Just for clarification - What is the "Gauge Tin"?

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

Tom quick question. Have you ever thought about an overlay for the oil pressure gauge??? I would buy one if you had it!!! Just one similar to the voltmeter with numbers

I can check into it. The problem is the initial set up charge cost a lot. It worked out for the volt gauges because there was so much demand for them. Not so much on the oil pressure gauges.

I have considered doing electronic oil pressure gauge conversions but again, have not had much demand for them.

Take care,
Tom

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

What keeps the +12v from grounding out from the tin on the voltmeter?

The gauge itself has small insulators that keep the terminals from touching the tin. The way I supply voltage is the same way it is done by the factory only without the circuit board. I just tap into the 12V side of the temp gauge and piggy back it over the the 12V side of the volt gauge, add the ground, and all is good.

Yes it is possible if you are not careful to install the gauge incorrectly in the tin. At that point, things would start to get hot until the fuse popped.

Hope this answers your question,

Tom

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

Hello all,

I currently have enough gauges to build 2 conversion kits if anyone is interested.

They are $100.00 shipped.

Please ask any questions you have and thank you in advance for your continued business.

Take care,
Tom

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

I just want to say Tom put together an extremely nice volt gauge kit. And how ever he calibrated it its spot on as I can view my voltage on my efi display, and they run hand in hand. Thanks Tom i am very happy. Worth every penny guys. It really complements the rest of the gauges including the vacuum gauge and brake light switch and temp light switch I wired in for warm up and overheat. I have more functional factory gauges and dummy lights than GM ever even offered. lol

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

Finally installed my conversion, and love it. I have one question, why not use the power wire that was already hooked to the old gauge? Just curious.

Thank you for my kit!
