1967 C20 Custom camper ???

Hey guys. Bought this 1967 custom camper C20 a few years back for parts. Got a couple guestions about it... it had west coast style mirriors on it. Wondering if this was factory or early aftermarket.. Also the bed has foot holes in the bedsides... and the bed has like storage compartments on both sides... was this stuff factory. I’m a little grey with the camper info...any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks again Clayton

Those particular mirrors are aftermarket, but GM offered a RV Jr painted mirror very similar to that. I think your truck originally had the standard "stick" mirrors (I call them). I think the cracked up area is where the holes were filled.

The bedside steps are also aftermarket, although GM offered them as an accessorie through the parts dept.

The tool boxes are also aftermarket.

Being a Custom model it is the mid-level trim that gave it things like brightwork window trim and a cloth insert seat. The Custom Camper option was more about the emblem than anything. Although.... certain heavy duty upgrades were mandated to qualify for that option.

The bed side steps are a GM accessory, the mounts for the mirrors look wrong to be factory, plus you can see the Bondo where oem small stalk mirrors were. The tool box=no

Thanks for the info special k. Was talking with another member and he said your the camper guy that has all the answers. So thanks again.. someday I’d love to have a 72 with a slide in in it to camp at the truck shows... I’ll be keeping the steps as I think they are cool but the bed is so far rotted that will be scrapped. I love the look of the mirriors so I’d defianly like to find a super nice straight pair. You have any pics of what they look like? The RV junior mirriors...

The steps were sold by GM, but were also sold elsewhere in different boxes. I bought one from Dick Cepek.

I didn't have a mirror picture

Not to get too far off topic, did these originally come with a backing plate?,
Or just four screws?
