Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

No sorry I don't have these on my website yet. I've just been conducting the sales here thru PM's. Send me a PM and let me know how you would like to make the payment and we can go from there. I accept PayPal and money orders.

Is your '63 a Chevy or a GMC with a hydraulic clutch?

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Bump ..... Thank you John, for a nice product
Here is a shot of a 75 impala booster and master mounted on Captainfab's mount bracket.. Worked out slick!
I used a S-10 bracket from mid 80s as it sat the combination valve squarely and directly under the master. The ears of the bracket were extended 1" to give more bending room for the lines between the master and the combination valve.

Size: 47.0 KB (that is the choke cable laying up across the booster)oops-- the bracket had not been painted yet either ...

Update---- after about 5000 miles , I was tired of the vacuum brakes with a cam and low vacuum and a hard pedal. I removed the vacuum booster and installed a hydro boost from a 94 Astro van. I may have also had a bad vacuum booster all along.
The hydro boost pump works on the same bracket I bought from John two years ago, but a new linkage to the pedal was built to adapt things
Wow! what a difference . It will stop the truck really quickly without locking up the tires and skidding. Much better now!!!

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Hey Cap,want to order a power booster bracket from you. Before I do,I wanted to know if your familiar with an MBM booster as this is the brand that my supplier sells. He tells me the 7" booster bolt pattern is 3 3/8 on center on all 4 studs on a zinc plated unit. The reason I ask is Im going with MBM stainless unit and want to make sure the bolt patterns dont change.MBM is closed till Monday,so if your not sure i can confirm with them then.

Thanks,
Ed.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

The booster hole pattern is 3-3/8" x 3-1/2" as noted in post #1, so you will have to elongate the holes slightly.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

No the '73-'87 pickup,Suburban and Blazer boosters will not work with my bracket. It is not needed with those boosters as they have brackets riveted to the booster. To use that booster you will have to drill some holes in your firewall.

My booster brackets work with the boosters listed at the beginning of this thread, and bolt to your firewall using existing holes. This is also a cleaner looking installation IMO.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

"Boosters with this pattern are commonly found on S10's and full size pickups, Suburbans, Blazers and Tahoes from 1988 to at least 1998."

I see this statement and have some Q's.

1. So I take it I need a booster from these years? Also, a master cylinder from any of these years and applications?

2. The only other thing needed for this installation (besides your bracket) is to couple the rods together?

3. Dumb question but where does the vaccum hose coming from the booster attach to on the engine?

Then I'd just have to run my brake lines and then Ill have power brakes?

I'm sending you a PM about your power steering bracket we talked about in the other thread yesterday.

You do not have to use the master that came on the booster you are going to use. Most GM dual reservior master cylinders will bolt up. I would recommend using one that is close in application to what you are using the rest of the braking system from

That and a proportioning valve, and run your brake lines.

You will need to connect it to manifiold vacuum on your engine. Where that may be depends on what engine you are running

You will have to bleed the brake system, then yes you should have power brakes.
