Ever find anything 'old' in your truck?

Have you ever found 'old' stuff when cleaning out your new ride? Yesterday I was vacuuming out my newly aquired 72 Cheyenne, when I looked under the seat and found a paper bag.So I pulled it out and found a reciept in it from VONS back in Feb.1973! And a gum wrapper-Beech Nut fruit stripe cherry flavor(red/green stries)-Kinda COOL!

I'll never understand how people can go that long with cleaning something or checking under the seat.

Re: Ever find anything 'old' in your truck?

I found a Korean war vintage M1 Garand rifle sling under the seat in my scrap yard truck, along with two nice sawhorses in the back, and an old metal gas can.

Re: Ever find anything 'old' in your truck?

A few weeks ago I bought a 71 gmc swb for the frame but in the glove box there was almost all the original paper work. It also has a tn dealership key chain behind the gas thank that looks to be from the late 70's i think it had a date but I'll have to check it.

Re: Ever find anything 'old' in your truck?

I found a newspaper from 1969 behind the seat and when I tried the radio for the first time it was playing Frank Sinatra type music. It was a very strange twilight-zone moment!

Re: Ever find anything 'old' in your truck?

I found close to $75 worth of silver dollars in the cab corner of a cab I bought in a salvage yard ... the funny part is I only gave $50 for the whole cab.

I made money on that deal.

Re: Ever find anything 'old' in your truck?

Found the original sales receipt. It was sold to a gentleman in Carbondale Illinois for about $2600. I know of some people that pay more than that for their fixer uppers.

Re: Ever find anything 'old' in your truck?

I bought my 71 C-10 LWB last August here in Southeast Missouri.

When I was cleaning it out I found a bottle of power steering fluid under the hood in front of one of the fenders, a 2000 map of Albuquerque in the glove compartment and part of a sunshade, a window scraper and 15 cents under the seat. A New Mexico Sheriff's Association sticker on the left rear bumper. I found a gallon of oil and a flat tire in the bed.

In an old '55 I found a John Deere note pad from the fifties, and he had written some stuff on it with how much he paid - farm implements and stuff - it also had the original owners manual.

Re: Ever find anything 'old' in your truck?

i try not to look under the seats,,never know what is going to bite...i found a set of brand new wrenches in my 84 under the seat, funny as how the inside and undr the seat was spotless, other than the brand new wrenches...since the the guy i bought the truck had already moved, i kept them..then again i didnt look under there for a week or so..mainly because the seat likes to eat my tools i throw on it,,most of the time they behind it..
