All I did was complete the speaker install by making kick panel enclosures for 6.5" round Pyle's, based on the work done by Frizzle Fry.

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

I FINALLY put some money into my Silverado. It's about to hit 100K and I spent some $$$ on GOOD plugs, wires, fuel filter, K&N filter, changed the oil, but before that I seafoamed the heck out of it and I am SOLD on that stuff. The seafoam with the new tune up brought back about 20 horses I think I've been missing. That took all day saturday because I also cleaned out the interior (it was a rolling toolbox ) and installed some Infinity speakers I got from Shifty... they sound awesome.

To the 67, I finished installing the speaker kick panels, the fit sucks, but oh well, they work. I also tried out my new toy, a buffer. It wore me out but it was worth it. Here's how she looked after the "buff job"

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

Finished patching some dry wall where I moved a couple of walls. Hung some new kitchen cabinets.

Went to my friends house to check on the progress on my panel. Yehaaa its getting worked on again. He's cut most of the rust out and is making the patches.

And I went out to where I have most of my truck stuff stored and stared at it for awhile. Came home and took a nap on the couch.

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

Finally finished ONE of my brake lights. Got them wired up and hot glued up. Looks killer! Started tearing what was left of the rockers out of bluebird so that i can make it presentable to sell. also managed to shear SEVERAL teeth off the flexplate. So many that i cant get it to start anymore. Its been a problem for awhile, but now its officially done for. Dad and i will tear the th350 out of it during spring break. Also got a XY table from harbor freight for my birthday (the big two-zero) so that i can turn our drill press into a milling machine. Got several harbor freight gift cards too. Im going to buy a 12 ton tubing bender tomorrow so i can do my own exhaust. They are on sale for $70 and i have a %30 coupon

Dont let the sound to the movie scare you. Mission impossible 2 was on FX and the scene where the guy impersonating tom cruse gets his jaw broken.

Well, I accomplished buying a good 700r4 for $250. I thought it was a pretty good deal. That's about it for this weekend though. Justin

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

Not a lot of production on the ole farm truck this weekend.

Spent most of the weekend with my son and his family. Yesterday we went to a Classic Truck store, Auto Zone and a Speed Shop. Then watched my son put a tach in his 70 C-10 hot-rod and 74 Nova hot-rod.

Today was my 61 birthday anniversary and tomorrow is my son's 41 birthday anniversary, so today we had a small party.

I forgot, I put a new air filter, Edelbrock, on my farm truck.

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

I got the rear disc mocked up on my K-20 chassis and pretty much finished the front brakes.

Not too bad considering I only have 1 light in my garage, the underground wiring to it shorted a month ago. i am hoping to get this fixed
as soon as the ground thaws. I'm running off one extension cord for now which means no air compressor or welder.

Rokcrln: Nice metal work on the bed! How many hours did it take? Around here short-boxes are nearly impossible to find

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

  • Put in carpet kit and door sills.
  • Re-installed misc. interior parts.
  • Pieced together and installed new gauge cluster (bezel and gauge plastic).
  • Uninstalled new alternator that didn't work. Exchanged it, reclocked that one, and got the new one in there and working.
  • Put in new power steering belt
  • Installed Edelbrock air cleaner to match the new valve covers, and found a matching breather.
  • Bought computer on eBay to replace the one that fried last week, so I can have something to upload all my truck pictures on and show them off here

All with no garage in driving rain and 40 mph wind :-)

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

Let's see...truck nothing....02 Bonneville, from rotors and pads, oil change, general servicing getting it ready for the wife to go on the road again today. On the 96 Bonneville I finished repainting and replacing rear door. Also cleaned off some pealing paint and repainted some bad spots. Then I added a wing. Throw in some soccer, more soccer, and Cub Scouts. Oh yeah, I finished up by fixing boss's Yukon.

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

pulled the trailing arms out of my parts truck and got them ready to get media blasted this week, then powder coated. pulled the column out so that Brak could stop by and pick it up. Pulled the gas pedal linkage for a board memeber. got the tractor out and move the remaining scrap truck to a safe spot until i have time to take it to the scrap yard.

I also made a set of 2.5" lowering blocks out of 2.5" x 2.5" x .25" steel.

oh, and Mr. Brown showed up this week with most of my air bag parts. My dad had a good laugh when he saw my 10 switch panel come out of the box. He didn't know what to think.

I now have everything needed minus the valves and drop spindles. Bug getting the notch, bags, new T arms, mounting the tank, compressor and gauges should keep me busy for a while.

Pulled the buckets out of my truck and put the new bench in - not bolted in, though, must drive slow. Just kidding, it's sitting in the garage. But I was tempted.

Took one last rip and did a couple burn outs, then ripped off the box, doors, gas tank, and seats. I'll be replacing the rocker, inner rockers, cab corners, and supports over the next lil' while.

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

I started clearing out my '72 cab to see what kind of shape it's in. It has been at least 4 years since I seen the floor- surprisingly it hasn't gotten much worse. Seeing the shiny unfaded paint on the trans hump is making me question if I want to change colors or not. Ive always said I did, but

The corner of the cab was damaged by jacknifing a gooseneck trailer years before I got it. I'll need to straighten it up better. I have new rockers, inner pieces, supports & corners- but I don't have a garage or welder anymore. I'll probably get everything fitted up & have someone weld them in.

I ran half a can of that stuff through my carb this weekend too, and the other half went into the oil. Gave the neighborhood plenty of smoke for about 15 minutes . Also put on a new air filter, valve covers/gaskets, changed oil/filter, new belts, new plugs, figured out my turn signal problem, reinstalled my Grant steering wheel properly, got the horn working, installed new battery terminals, and tomorrow I'll install the LED taillights/lenses and new gaskets.
