Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

Since these seats won't fit in my '88 Ext. cab worth a darn, I think I'll use them in my '72. I can't believe the cab's interior width is bigger on the '72. the wide trans hump was the big problem on the '88.

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

Big weekend for me!

There's some milestones when building one of these things......truck painted, all panels back on, first motor firing, and the first little cruise around the parking lot!

It's moving under it's own power and this thing will fry the tires on demand!!!....gonna take a surgeon to remove the smile from my face!!

....or at least until the front crank seal gave way and spit oil all over!!...PISS!!

Oh well....it's was a pretty easy fix, but just made a mess.

This pic is the first time this thing has moved on it's own power since 97!

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

Installed a new dome light assembly from Christian's Classics.. Thanks Tim..
Fixed my fuel gauge problem by installing a new Resistor, Thanks Randy
Removed some Highschool crappy wiring someone had done to the truck..
Removed four 6x9 speakers from the doors.. Who would do such a bad thing to these doors..
Put some new valve cover gaskets on the ole 396

I had a very successful weekend with the truck.. Everything went smooth..

Re: What did you get done? 3/11/07

Congrats SactoJim on the first drive since 97!

Looks like alot of progress amongst us.

This weekend I got to work on my 70 K5 on Sunday. Got the transmission bolts all tightened, got the bellhousing cover installed. Got the power steering pump installed along with the alternator. So very little left to do before I can go for a drive for the first time in the K5!

Got a few coats of primer on the top of my frame. Tonight we'll flip it over and put a few on the bottom. Hopefully tomorrow we'll be spraying black!
