Glove compartment installation question

Does the glove box cardboard go inside or outside the dash frame? In the picture, is this right or wrong?

The joys of having things you didn't take apart yourself...

That would be correct.

All the inserts I’ve done I put them under the dash with the hinge on top of the grill and the screws would go through the hinge then the dash and last into the glove box insert. You shouldn’t see the edge of the insert at all. That’s my two cents.

I know the top and side holes in the glove box have clips for the screws to thread into. I don't think there are clips on those bottom holes. Did you just let the screws go through, or do something else to provide support on the bottom of the cardboard?

I think it would look cleaner the way you're describing.

Re: Glove compartment installation question

Some of the inserts have the same type fastener you’ve described on the side holes also at the bottom holes.

Ive also seen others that supply you with clip type fasteners that you put over the cardboard insert and you line up with the screw holes.

Ive also seen them with the little flat clips that that have the sharp corner point’s to press into the cardboarded inserts for the screws.

They should have been in the same baggy that the screws came in. But if you dont have them you can easil purchase them at the hardware store.
