Big block vs SB radiator bracket

Hey guys,

I just got a radiator from wizzard cooling. All of the measurements are correct but my stock radiator hold down brackets do not fit. It also seems like the lower pads do not fit correctly unless i place the radiator off center to the motor. But in order for the radiator to be centered to the motor the bottoms pads would need to longer to let the side tank straddle the pad.

Is there a larger/ different bracket and pads for a big block radiator?

Here is a pic of my radiator.

Thanks for any info.

Yes, upper and lower pads are larger for BBC.

Re: Big block vs SB radiator bracket

Ok I had a feeling that was the case. I assume the brackets are also different.
I will order some BB pads and brackets and see if they fit, if not I will just make my own, but i need at least the BB pads.

Thanks for the quick reply!

sooo… does this mean that if you wanted to run a BBC radiator in a stock SBC truck that you have to have BBC rad. mounts/brackets?

I guess so. The funny thing is that I used to own an 81 c30 with a factory bb and I never remember seeing that one piece top bracket. My brother owns the truck now so I’ll have him pop the hood and send me a picture.

You can run a 4 row from Spectre but you will need the BBC radiator cover and bushings. If your running ashroud, you will need that as well.
