Engine size

I’ve posted before with no luck and would like to know if anyone can help identify the engine size of my 1970 C10. I know it’s not the stock motor. I have posted a couple pics of the block numbers and while investigating engine sizes it looks like it’s either a 283 or 327 but I can’t find anything that can tell me the correct size. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Engine size

Likely 327.

https://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm

And suffix code also says 327.

http://nastyz28.com/gm-chevy-codes/c...s-suffix-5.php

While suffix code also says 57 283 that can be ruled out if your block has side mount motormounts.

Re: Engine size

The book says 1967, either a 302, 327, or 350. EC says 66-327. That is a bit confusing.

Re: Engine size

if you check other sources you’ll find EC is for 67 too.

Re: Engine size

Thanks for your reply. It looks like geezer#99 seems to agree. The question now would be what year it actually is and what affect this would have on buying parts.

Re: Engine size

Pick a year.
66,67 close enough.
You could find the date code to narrow it down.
Pics in here where to look.

Re: Engine size

geezer,
The only other stamps I can find are the I3 to the left of the casting numbers in my picture and the one I just attached which I think is just a time code. Sorry it was raining so it's not very clear.

Re: Engine size

The block casting numbers look like it is 67 and casting numbers for a 67 Camaro Z28 . If your other pad numbers match could have some good value .
