Thumbs up

Got front end on the '68 aligned after swap to true dually front end. Routed power bucked seat wiring to switches in custom MTX console. Chopped frame out of doner dually and began prepping rear suspension for swap tomorrow. Finished cleaning up braided hose routing for hydroboost brakes. Welded '72 style brake tabs on front of frame crossmember to support braided front brake lines. Prepped the roller heads for the BBC to drop in next weekend. Looked in amazement at the pile of tools on the garage floor... Shut down and drank a beer or five to think about cleaning up tomorrow! It's the never ending story!

Converted my points distributor to electronic using the pertronix set-up. I have a 250 straight six and with the a/c compressor an hei wouldn't fit. The Pertronix set-up made it nice. No more points!!!
Later.

I pulled the fan & rad shroud ( for faster warmups if I need to move her this winter). it looked so much "cleaner" without those pcs that I fabbed a steel shroud to run dual electric fans. I have a list of stuff about a mile long to do to her this winter, but probably wont get back to it for a while. Just set my "spare" 355 in the plow truck, & have general maintanence to do to that.....also have the eng down on the sand rail for an overhual, & outside stuff to do on the house........too many things to work on!

umm moved whats left to put on of the front clip to the otherside of the bed so that way at least while it sits in the yard long enough to sink it sinks evenly. found some spare parts I didnt know was in there and ummmm something else. not sure exactly what it was. possibly from the leaves falling the first fall it was out of the factory. looks old enough to be anyway. the main stuff is waiting til winter when I cant work outside. thank god for the shop.

heater....springs.....shocks

and even in that order...worked on the heater assembly 1st per my previous post about having little to no heat...heater core was in upside down...housing was surprisingly clean...but after remounting heater core, i have all the heat that i will ever want...

then moved on to the rear coil springs..with a little encouragement from the smoking wrench those came off and the new springs went in as well as the shocks...all in all a pretty eventful day under the ole 69......

Glad to see you got your heater problem fixed... Now you'll be wishing that thing would shut off when you dont need it LOL. Put a shut off valve in the hose coming from the intake to cure that problem (in summer time that is).

Drove it to town and bought a replacement end for the broken antenna cable. Installed it (yuk)
Put the glove box back in (double yuk) and installed the glove compartment door.
Hiked up the heater box and put in some self-tapping screws to hold it in place.
Dusted it off, had a beer while I sat and looked at it.

well i threw a new battery in the 77, put a new carb on it, topped up the tranny fluid, put anitfreeze in the radiatior, then started and terroeized the neigbourhood until it ran out of gas
With my Ford i hauled 2 loads of gravel for the floor of the wood shed that i have been building, then i put more gas in the 77 silverado and terrorized the neighbourhood some more

Loaded my grill and tools in it and went to a friends house to work on his 70. Took the front clip off, the cab off, and took the bed apart since we need to replace the floor and 1 bedside. Does it count working on someone else's truck?

Pulled the 454 from the donor vehicle Friday night and thought about cleaning it up as I did other things this weekend!

Nothing on mine but got my buddy's running. New carb, plugs, oil&filter, trans fluid, fuelpump, battery. Now it only needs all the body work and paint done, a new interior and some wheels.

Worked on cab- many parts need to be replaced, So far I have cut the right floor board, rocker and cab corner. Hope I can start welding those next weekend so that I can move on left side after that.

Dismantled my heater to figure out why it wouldn't work, followed by cursing the PO for leaving parts out when he assembled it. Ran over and saw Jeff at Bowtie Bits www.bowtiebits.com today at lunchtime to get the parts. Hopefully will have heat before first frost!

Drove it to work today. Yesterday I reattached my heater hoses to the heater core. Starting to get cool enough to make me want a defroster in the mornings. Saw someone post about using a shut-off valve. *smacks head with obvious work-around*

Need to put my new choke cable in so it's easier to start in these cooler mornings, too.
