Exclamation Roll Call for the 1965s!

O.K., all of the other years have a roll call thread... so here is the one for the 1965 model trucks.

Post your 1965 pickup trucks, Panel trucks, & Suburbans, with details if you like.

4x4's, ton trucks, work trucks, drag trucks, mud trucks, low riders, whatever '65 model year Chevy/GMC truck you have, post it up if you like.

-W

----

I'll start it off with my truck, a 1965 Chevrolet C10 long wheel base step side.

350/5.7L with a carburetor

TH350 transmission

1971 C10 straight, automatic steering column

big ol' West Coast Jr. mirrors.

front sway bar with ECE bushings.

More details & photos of various projects on my site for my truck, in my signature line below, if interested.

Bought time !! 1965 K10 Ive owned about 22 years. Bought it in Silver City New Mexico from the original owner with 17,000 miles. Now about 33,000 miles and 100% original. This one started it all. Last pictures are of when I bought it.

Re: Roll Call for the 1965s!

My '65 is my daily driver/shop parts chaser.

1991 305 TBI engine w/ Painless Performance harness. 1990 Truck ECM with GM performance PROM.
1965 Suburban rear mount tank with owner designed/built intank fuel sump and pump assy using GM parts.
1979 TH 350C trans with manual lock up control
original 3.73 open differential
Power steering, using a 1969 C10 box and all the original linkage
1994 Truck tilt steering column and custom column cable shift linkage
Power 4 wheel drum brakes w/tandem M/C and 1968 Camaro distribution block and split lines. All rebuilt.
Full Alpine AM/FM/CD audio with 200X2 amp and 10" JL sub, Alpine 6 1/2 components up front , dash mounted 2"tweeters, and Alpine 6X9 in rear cab corners.

This is the most solid truck of the 9 I have owned like this-has original cab mounts still in place.
This truck sees daily use in any weather- just like it was designed to be used.

Re: Roll Call for the 1965s!

Heres my 65. Got it from an old farmer in a small town called Ola in central Idaho. I have always been grateful for how well he cared for it, despite it being his work truck. The brake hose on the passenger side ruptured and he parked it in the barn. He never got around to getting it back on the road, but he did give me 3 "new" brake hoses he had bought for it back in the late 80's.

I am the 3rd owner, him having bought it used back in the mid 70's. I camp a lot with it and enjoy it thoroughly throughout the summer. These were taken when I went camping with my then girlfriend, my now wife; my brother, and his dog. Snake river in the background.

Re: Roll Call for the 1965s!

My 65 K-10. All stock except for the wheels. I'm the third owner. It was bought new by the Virginia Dept of Game and Inland Fisheries and used at a Trout Hatchery in Paint Bank, VA. A good friend of mine bought it at auction and I bought it from him.

I was 18 and took the truck on service calls to farms, man that truck could haul. I wonder if my brother knows how I drove that thing?
