Good on ya man, I was out today for a couple 100 miles, gave the engine a shake down and it's nice when they run when you want them to.

Received my Atomic Armadillo Metal Fab door panels and kick panels. This stuff is beautiful, can't wait to install. I ordered lower door pockets and a radio delete to match. Just waiting on USPS to track them down . Also my son was visiting me and made this awesome video for me.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

The second set of intake bolts I've painted for the same truck Brushed on Por-15 engine paint. The pic. aint worth a (&^)^, but it brushes on super.............. Wish I could use the originals bolts, 9 of the 13 bolts I need are original round top flange "M" bolts. A very cool bolt. But I prefer they all match, so these are NOS with a regular head flange "M" bolts. Only $20-25 for the set.

That's not all I did............ I'm out for a load of new OER/OEM parts to build this thing, and I received a bunch. They sent the wrong leaf spring shackles, E-brake cables, leaf spring bolts, and the wrong fuel pump to carb tube. The front coils are wrong too, and they're banged up anyway.

Oh sure, "the build end will be so easy", I can barely start. Can only imagine what it takes to build a mod.

It takes a lot of patience and dedication. I used paint stir sticks for all my bolts. I have a small glass bead cabinet so blast, paint and hang to dry. There's only about 1500 pieces of hardware to do, not that bad. LOL

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Got my truck running this week after eleven months of work, and drove around the neighborhood last night. Today I drove it down town to get some oil for a oil change. Every thing looks pretty good so far. Still need to do some idle tuning, and I have a power steering pump leak I have to replace. Got to checkout why the speedo is not working, and one dash light out. Nice to be back on the road, especially with AC! Really surprised at no other leaks with all that I did.

I use a piece of masonite pegboard for painting bolts. The holes are already drilled.

No kidding, lots of parts, especially A/C. Your parts look awesome. I ended up with black zinc. Unfortunately, some of the new parts I'm getting are plain and yellow zinc, so looks like I'll have another batch

Question Engine Painting

I'm impressed but why not just paint the hardware on the finished, assembled engine like done when it was new ? .

Installed the FCF seat lowering kit. It's wonderful now that I can see out the windshield when the wipers are on . Before my line of sight was just above the wipers path.

That's perfect , never thought of it. Great idea and you could lay it out on the boards as per location of install.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Sold her! Sad day indeed... A truck junkie (the mechanic whose been working on her for me) bought her about 10 days ago. When I told him I had to relocate to Connecticut. He begged me to sell and keep "Long-Green" my C10 from the bad winters and salty roads, and offered a very good price. Not my intention, but when the local PA job went away, I knew I couldn't keep all my toys.

Out for run today and stopped in to Grant Shwartz that was on Vegas rat rods. He's got a shop here in Ontario just over a half hour away. Super guy and great fabricator.
