Re: split buckets on Ebay

That's a 60/40 (split) bench seat. All buckets are split. Looks nice and they do work well in these trucks. Those things go around here, in decent original condition, for $300-400. There's a blue one in my area in Craigslist with two 1/4" holes for $295

No, makes them a split bench. It's a bench seat...seats three. Goes from one door to the other

Re: split buckets on Ebay

It is also termed as a 60 40 seat. Or should be 40 60 since the driver sits on the 40 portion. The newer ones with the fold down seat were called 40 20 40's when they came out. jim

Re: split buckets on Ebay

I'd like to get a fold down bench with headrests but it's not a current priority.

Re: split buckets on Ebay

I personally wouldn't want that in my truck if it were new and the box and free.

It would be a useful comment if you would include "why".

Re: split buckets on Ebay

No bids at $200. I guess the shipping scared bidders away

I don't like any seats in these trucks but the stock seats. At least this isn't an overstuffed looking modern seat like so many people put in...but it's still not right looking to me.

Re: split buckets on Ebay

i stick with original, too, but might find myself sitting on another type of seat one day. I never say never. These seats fit well, are more comfortable, and give good room. I can see why guys use them. also, if you want buckets there are way more comfortable ones than ridiculously expensive originals. For that matter, my '67 GMC project may just end up with a Pontiac 389 in front of the '65 GTO M22 in it. I have the '65 Pontiac hubcaps for the 8" wheels, as well as a steering wheel. A couple years ago at Carlisle I was next to a guy who did early GTO parts. He had a set of decent '65 GTO buckets for $300 and nobody bought them! Pretty crazy when one of the highest sought after muscle car bucket seats cost less than buckets from a truck. I needed all the money I made or I would have bought them to complete the GMC hot rodded with Pontiac stuff vibe. I always liked those seats with their diagonal roll & pleat.

Talking Re: split buckets on Ebay

I sold mine out of the 71 for $100.00 with shoulder belts. They are called 60/40 and they have 2 seperate frames. The drivers side is a bucket seat I guess you could say. They work well in the truck and I loved them but just wanted a change after 20 years.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
