FOR SALE 59 fleetside shorty Big window

I have for sale a RARE 59 chevrolet fleeside short box custom cab big rear window truck, and an (Untitled) 59 big back window W/ Long fleetside bed for parts, the truck needs restoration,,,The good points are, CLEAN TITLE ,WA. Registration, the frame is uncut and stock, the truck was originally a v-8 , 4 speed automatic, two tone paint (torquoise and Ivory), it had the custom trim package ( chrome grille, front and rear bumpers side bed trim,s/s trim around the rear window) the Sheet metal is great shape the truck is not all bent up but will need some rust repair, Ok lets look at the bad stuff. one door has been replaced with a better door and one door is rusted out on the bottom and needs replaced or repaired, the dash has been cut out for a larger radio (the parts truck dash is fine) the dash is missing parts, (parts truck dash is complete),the cowl in front of the windsheild had been damaged in the distant past on the driver side and the filler is cracked and lifted and needs to be repaired, all parts that are chrome need to be rechromed, painted or replaced, the rear bumber is not part of the package, I intend to keep it for my other truck,,, the windsheild needs to be replaced .. I have a good used one to go with the purhase, Cosmetically the truck needs a total resorataion, Seats, paint, bed wood Ect..,the motor and transmission are missing some trim is missing or damaged. This truck would make a very worth while project and good investment, This fleet side bed was only made from May of 58 thut the 59 model year and is rarer than the Fiberglass cameo beds, the trim package and cab was a direct carry over from the Cameos era of 55-58, It could make an awesome project that would not be a waste of time or money, I have been owning and working on these style trucks for 20 years I know their potential..This truck was bought to restore as a father daughter project but my duaghter just doesnt have the interest that she onced did thats the only reason im selling it, If i thought I had the time in the future Id love to put it together myself, the parts truck has a few parts on it ,such as a great running 6 cyl. with three speed on the column, some useable sheet metal such as the dash, the hood, and the grille area,, maybe a fender,, although you should not need to use most of the parts from the parts truck, the parts truck goes with the deal.. or if you dont want it and just want a few parts you can take what you need and I will get rid of the rest or maybe someone else on here needs parts off of it and you can make a joint venture in purchasing this package, feel free to contact me at 206 715 1339 or 253 639 1696, the truck is in the Seattle area, you may Email me a Cameo3124@aol.com , this is my first time posting parts on here I am going to try and post some pictures, $2200, Thank you Richard

Nice collection of pics

Washington is so far away. I heard from a friend back in the mid 80's that Washington was a hotbed for 55-59 GM trucks including Cameos. If they ever invent the instant transporter, my dreams may come true. nice to know that there are still neat unrestored trucks out there.

Talking Thanks Denny!

Thanks! It seems like there are a lot of trucks going on the block! Times are tough eh? What is the economy like where you guys are? Here in Michigan they are draggin' up by the thousands... the Governor is a Billion Dollars in the hole... and many of us have lost our day jobs!

You have heard it said... "You know it is a recession when your neighbor loses his job.... and it is a depression when you lose yours! "

Well in my block we are in a depression!

Question The Inline Engine in the Parts Truck Is..?

This is my next project, a '55-'59 Chevrolet Truck, and to start I will need to find a good, rebuildable, 261 engine. I would prefer this over a 235 since it is, obviously, a better engine with better torque and a few more horses.

Let me know which engine you have in the parts vehicle and what shape it is in.

Everyone out there tosses their inline engines, and sticks in those V8s, so I know that there is a decent 261 floating around somewhere just waiting for me to rescue it, rebuild it, and enjoy it for the next half-century while the V folks replace heads, cracked blocks, burned pistons, pushrods, bearings, etc. every few years.

the Motor in the parts truck is an in line 235 6 cylinder,, I dont know how many miles it has on it but i had it running last year with no major problems after it had been sitting for a few years,,I had to take the fuel pump apart and unstick the flappper valves in it to get it to pump fuel,,, I ran it for over an hour after words,, ran nice with no knocks or ticks,,,, and I didnt see any smoke,, I have not done a compression test on it,, If i were to keep it Id throw a set of gaskets on i the tin parts and clean it up and paint it,, other than that I think she still has a bit of life in her,,

Lightbulb 59 Parts

RICHARD, i am looking for a front dash for my 59. I would prefer half dash commencing from the driver side to ash tray or by radio knobs, I am also looking for used doors or any flat body parts for fill in on firewall & bedholes and etc.etc..... I would like to have the panels in squares if possible. thanks GILbert
