WIW Short Wheel Base 4x4 chassis

Well, I am looking at another project to go with my blazer. I found another guy selling a short wheel base 4x4 frame with axles and bumpers I believe. No motor, trans, body. What would be a good price for this? I was reading that the short wheel base 4x4's were harder to find so this caught my eye.

Re: WIW Short Wheel Base 4x4 chassis

If it hasn't been sandblasted and repainted, and if it only has the plain 10 bolts for axles, I wouldn't go over $200 for it... And that assumes everything is in good shape, no cracks near the steering box, etc. You can get a worn out/ rusty complete short bed 4x4 for $500 or under, might not run, but, it'd be all there and maybe have some usefulness to the other parts....

What year chassis are you talking about ? If it's a 67-72 they are hard to come by. In nice shape $500 to $1,500. I sold a 70 swb 4x4 bare frame, blasted & painted for $700 2 years ago.

Re: WIW Short Wheel Base 4x4 chassis

hrm. So it sounds like something I should probably pick up if it's within my price range since I may be considering a SWB 4x4 at some point?

Classic Bowties, did you clean up the frame at all, or was it as found? Did you have a title with it?

Re: WIW Short Wheel Base 4x4 chassis

If your thinking about possibly putting together a swb 4x4 than deffinately check it out !!! I also have a lead on a swb 4x4 chassis, and will pick it up just because there so hard to come by.

The one I sold for $700 was blasted, epoxy primed & topped with urethane had the cross members and the matching vin tag & tittle. It was pitted but still solid.

I paid $1,300 for a complete, yet fairly rusty`71 SWB K/10.The frame is very clean, not pitted or scaley. The more complete the better.
