2005 drama having issues starting

I have a 2005 duramax that had the water pump go out on it . My room mate is a licensed diesel mechanic and replaced the pump on it for me. Now the truck won't start. Any ideas what could be wrong? I'm thinking something dumb like a sensor didn't get plugged in. Thanks for any help

Make sure the Cam & Crank sensors are plugged in (#9 & #10 in the drawing).

Pump the fuel primer on top of the fuel filter housing till hard.

Beyond that....You need to scan for codes.

you did not say if it cranks and wont start or wont crank.i have seen people put the balancers on backwards on a duramax and it will lock solid agaist the front cover and not crank.
