Re: What's a good clear
I've used SPI clear for about 5 years now I think. Never had a single issue.
Used PPG and DuPont before prefer PPG of the two. |

Re: What's a good clear
I'll elaborate now that I have more time. SPI universal is a great show quality clear, if your just looking for a daily driver their euro 2020 is great too.

Re: What's a good clear
99.9% of them are good.
There are differences however. If you want more DOI, ease of spraying, activator choices to allow for different applications such as a "booth clear" v.s. "shop clear" or a clear that resists scratches or one that's easy to cut polish then you are going to narrow your choices. What do you want your clear to do because we will need to know more before one can be recommended. Clear coat is a very simple thing for a paint company to manufacture but because there are some many different ways to make it, you can end up with clear that you may not like depending on what I've mentioned.

Re: What's a good clear
Now if dust is a problem then maybe you should try Omni's Quick Clear # MC270 it tacks off in just min. and will be dust free in like 5 min. I have been using it for close to two decades [oh my gosh that is horrible when I look at that where is the time]and am very happy with it. I have looked at the PPG's 2021 concept clear but it is WAY slower and I think it would show that in my applications.Good luck and happy sanding
