Re: 69 cst-10

1350 joints TH350 yoke and shaft were $700. $150 for shortening it and $60 for the TH400 yoke. May be i was scammed.

I just been busy finishing my 454 install and making sure the truck was going to be drivable. Mines no show stopper just a grocery getter lol. Theres always obstacles that pop up, you just gotta know that somethings going to break some time. Specially when you have power like youre packing, I try and not screw around when funds are low and just drive like a granny lol.

You should call and see if they will cover under some sort of warranty, for that price they should really fix it for you. I looked at that inland drive-shaft and they look really reasonable. Is yours aluminum or steel?

Re: 69 cst-10

Have been seriously looking for a house the last few months. Keep getting outbid by investors. Some help the Govt is giving. But i'm better off then some and i am grateful. Cant find one with the right size yard (German Shorthair) garage (me) closet (her) for us to seriously bid on. Found one out in Jamul (Country for me and mountainous) that she likes but wont get my hopes up. This is driving both of us crazy. I just hope to get one soon so i can spend that time on my baby. have been looking for houses more then working on her.

Re: 69 cst-10

Been awhile, Just waiting on my IEDLS to get tubes in and send my shaft back. Still waiting on the quote. Im planning on making some c-notches and adding a coilover in the next few months. Want to drop the rear a little. After getting the front bumper on (7in off ground) it really makes the rake look off. Also want a better feel from the back end and want it to hook.

Re: 69 cst-10

Been a while. Buying my first house and the list of Honey Do's gets longer every day. So i dropped off the truck to my engine guy who doubles as a chassis guy. Going to get me a wheel tubs installed and clean up the bed. Add some alum wheel wells to the front. While doing that he will install a big c-notch and set it up for coil overs. The initial build was for a street terror but the more i drive it, the more i realize how many idiots there are that think their civic/caliber/escillade/baja street truck/neon has more power then i do. That is with me just cruising too, not even pounding on it. So it will be heading in the direction of a drag truck from here on out. A cage MAY be in its future. Speaking with the wife, i hope winter 2011 will be getting the body done. Flat black, dechromed bumpers/mirrors/badges and painted matte gray.

Re: 69 cst-10

I did not realize it has been so long. No updates so far because of the long list of house stuff. I have been driving it quit a bit over the last year. I find little things to fix every few times im out. Took it for a ride today to get breakfast. I had not really gotten into it in a while so i let em eat. Some nasty burn outs and im sure my wife will know who laid the long black strips up and down the road. I am planning on tearing out the rear end and putting a drain/fill bung on it as well as weld up some tabs a little better. I have little leaks developing so i want to get em taken care of. My wife hated being in it when im driving. The old BFG tires did not hook and were slippery. Last weekend i let her drive it to breakfast and i drove home. She was all smiles after a few burnouts. She is coming around.

Re: 69 cst-10

Over a year and no update but I really did not do anything. Small leak from my 3rd member so I tore my rear end apart. Im really happy with the pattern on the gears and everything inside looks good. I will be welding up some new tabs for my Watts link and mounting brackets on the rear end. Not that they were bad but I would like them better if i re due some. May go with coil overs while at it as I have not been able to hook up even at 30-40mph. Truck has been running great otherwise. Im seriously looking at getting a solid roller cam as these heads really flow in the 650-700 lift range and at 545 lift, I am missing out on a lot of potential, easy power. Id guess a cam swap could net 100hp possibly with the flow that David Vizard has stated the Dart Irons have. The extra RPM's would be a bonus also.

Re: 69 cst-10

After a long time sitting, I'm at it again. Had the engine torn down and redone with a Straub Hyd Roller and a Pro Systems 950. Updated steering with a Quick ratio box. I'll get video up soon. Should be in the 630hp/tq range.

Shame on you! But none the less, glad to see you're back at it. These babies don't need to be sitting around collecting dust.

Wish I could borrow some of your torque... Just sayin'.
