I just finished up my truck and here's what I learned the hard way.
Everything I got from LMC was junk! Returned all of it.
Summit racing repair panels horrible. Tin cans and door skin was 3/8" too long!
Brothers trucks was good. My bedsides and lower door skin were a heavy guage and good fit.
Everything I got from them was good quality and reasonable price.
Also bought items from Bow tie bits. No complains but no panels from them
I've read many times that of all the re pop panels that doors are the toughest to get a good fit.
Search CL and find a good quality door.
I found a gem for $400 here in Ohio. Passed on it because I was able to repair mine but after you pay shipping it will cost you at least that for Taiwan metal. Get vintage GM steel if you can.

Re: Lmc truck body panels

The important thing when buying sheet metal is knowing what company makes the part, not who you buy it from. With LMC you will never know who made the part. Bigger is not better.

remember, left and right side is always assuming that you are in the drivers position. (drivers seat.)

Re: Lmc truck body panels

I would suggest you visit AMD for your fenders, or any other body part you'll need.
Just had a guy put LMC front fenders on his truck and they are Paper thin, import crap.
They buckled twice, once pre fitting, and again before painting.

Re: Lmc truck body panels

GMC Pauls has good patch pieces and American Made. LMC is Tin Foil. I had a friend buy a tail gate from there he did a quick one handed close and the tail gate buckled.

Re: Lmc truck body panels

Just finished rocker and cab corners on the passenger side. Now starting on the drivers side. Used lmc panels. Fit good. Although any brand your going to have to make a few minor adjustments and cuts. Nothing is perfect, unless you find old nos.

Same here, I bought most of my metal through Nsane or coopers restoration parts though. Nos metal is nice but not much for a budget build prices have been drove up out of site.

I had a nightmare with rocker panels. I had panels made by Dynacorn that are complete and utter garbage. I had to refabricate the entire panel to fit on the passenger side. I didn't want to go through that BS again, so I asked some questions and got a drivers side rocker panel from Wes at Classic Heartbeat. It was made by Key parts and it fit really well! You can check my "Out of the Ditch" build thread (link in my sig line) to see what I went through.

Thanks, Gary, I have read about problems with Dynacorn. Good to hear Key parts worked well for you. Wouldn't be my first order with Wes! I definitely will check out that thread.

Re: Lmc truck body panels

I have an LMC tailgate, fender and rocker panels on my truck. Tailgate was okay, the fender fits good but as some have noted, the metal is thinner than OE. I would not get the rocker panels as they were the biggest pain to install and don't fit.

Definitely ask around before purchasing. There is better stuff out there than LMC, but it might be harder to find.

Has anyone used rocker panels from Top Banana? What were they like to fit?

Re: Lmc truck body panels

I just finished both rockers that I got from Cooper Restorations, pretty sure they were Key Parts. Both fit well. I had to make a slice in the front of the drivers side to get proper alignment with the door. The passenger side fit with only minor trimming and hammering.

Re: Lmc truck body panels

AMD is the best repro stuff I've ever used. Still not perfect or GM quality but the closest I've seen so far.

I refuse to buy anything from LMC, I've had nothing but bad luck with their parts and their customer service.

They sell Key part rockers like many other suppliers. I have had decent luck with rust repair panels from Fix My Rust . Com Better shipping rates than other places I have tried, depending where you live. Stay away from LMC
