Re: Affordable Rear Disc Brake Kit Help

Check out Captn Fabs solution, you source calipers and he has the mounts and knows which rotor to use

Captainfab has a wide variety of rear disc kits and brackets.
Look in the signature of his posts, for links to those threads.

Re: Affordable Rear Disc Brake Kit Help

Yep, I have used CaptianFab brackets on two different trucks. Since I converted both to 5 lug, it uses the PBR style Camaro rear brake calipers, which has a good e-brake system, unlike a lot of other companies who use the Cadillac calipers which has a horrible e-brake system. I haven't done a 6 lug rear end so not sure which calipers they use.

Re: Affordable Rear Disc Brake Kit Help

The Cadillac/Trans Am e brake is fine, IF you use it every time. It relies on regular use to stay adjusted. Since most people didn't do that, they got a bad rep. I have a couple of them at my place. I also have the CaptainFab style OEM on my 96 Impala SS.

I make 2 different rear disc conversion bracket sets for the 6 lug.

Re: Affordable Rear Disc Brake Kit Help

Hey guys,

Got a question for the group...

I've been researching different kits and parts. And it seems that I do not know the center bore diameter of my axel. I guess I would need to take off my rim and measure it. Does anyone know what diameter it is off hand?

Thanks!!
