Turn Down exhaust tips

Does anybody have true duals with turn down tips on their Jimmy/Blazer? I have dual exhaust and would prefer to not have the exhaust come straight out the back under the bumper like it currently does.

Re: Turn Down exhaust tips

I had them on my 69 I sold a few years back and plan on doing the same thing when I get to that stage in my current build. I loved them but I was also in my late teens and it was louder than hell. They dumped out right over the rear axle. Headers with 3" exhaust and dual flowmasters. Add a noisy gear drive to the mix and nothing on the floor boards

Jdubs71...sounds like my setup. Headers, dual 3", FM 44's with turndowns right ahead of the axle. It's not bad on sound when your easy on the throttle, but what fun is that. LOL Gotta let the BB rumble.

Not to steal your thread, but why don't you like that? I have headers and dual Flowmaster 40s (I think), that dump just behind the door. I was thinking of changing it to straight back, like you have.

Re: Turn Down exhaust tips

I actually do like that look, but I want to add a receiver hitch and the way the exhaust is currently mounted interferes, so i was thinking of a simple solution.

Re: Turn Down exhaust tips

You could take them out to the sides behind both tires. Would be quieter if noise is an issue. You will notice a difference in sound with the turn downs echoing off the pavement.

Re: Turn Down exhaust tips

I have mine tucked up high and turned out torward the tires after the axle because otherwise the exhaust can get into the cab. Duel flow master 40s I have and are louderanhell. Lol

Mine turns down behind the wheels. They are tucked up so you cannot see the exhaust.

Mine turn down right at the muffler. Love it. gives it a nice aggressive tone.

Re: Turn Down exhaust tips

Mine also turn down beyond the rear tires and are tucked up so not readily visible. Here is the right side (left is essentially the same):

Don't mind the dirt. It's been sitting since summer but that's where I have mine turn down. Viewed from passenger side over back tire.

Re: Turn Down exhaust tips

It's not terribly loud. Has it's own sound for sure. I like it a lot
