Horn wiring?? Where do I start? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I need a horn to pass inspection. I bought one that can be wired with one wire or two. The truck has no existing horn now. Er at least I can't find it. Which wire is it coming out of the fire wall? Any help would be appreciated.

If you just want it to pass inspection, just get you a momuntary switch and wire it to the horn inline with the hot wire.

Actually the horn circuit is pretty simple. The horn button grounds the horn relay which is mounted just above the fuse panel. The relay sends power to the horn(s) which should be mounted on the left inner side of the radiator support. The wire that hooks to the horn(s) is a dark green wire, a no. 12 I believe, which is fairly large. The large green horn wire goes through the firewall in the
side adjascent to the fender well.
