2004 1500HD Cummins Swap
So I got a customer that wanted me to put a 12v Cummins in his 04 chevy with a 6.0l and 4L80e. I like money so I said yes. Sometime regret it but its coming along kinda nicely. Started in December and Here is what is done so far and what is planned. Any input is helpful. Decided to start a thread as its getting closer and the real headaches will begin as far as wiring and such. Plan to use a stand alone trans ecm. Have not decided on which one so any real life experiences will be appreciated. Been looking at US Shift and COMPUSHIFT. So here it goes!!

Engine mocked up to see if it will fit. then off to machine shop.

Put the transmission back in its original spot. The engine mounts from the Dodge sat almost exactly on top the Chevrolet engine mount frame location. built mounts to bolt through Chevy frame mount and attached to the dodge mount. Sorry don't know what happen to those pictures. You can see them in the pictures to come that are finished.

Everything Painted and back in frame. Some oversight on how high the intake was on the grid heater. Had to lower the engine some more. Not happy about that. Makes the pan impossible to remove without lifting the engine up. Sorry no pictures of what I did to the pan before but ill put what I did to it soon. (Still work in progress.)

Lowered engine mounts to clear intake of hood.

Core support done. Hood Closes and front end put back on.
