Great to see you get it installed. I'm just waiting for some warmer weather around here so I can stab my 400 sbc in my K5. Good luck getting the tank installed today.

Well...the tank isn't going to fit as expected.

Contacted 'fuel cell guy' to find out what he has.

That fuel injection is gonna be a good thing for that blazer.

BTW,your making me so jealous with that blazer....Im setting up a deal to get one....wont be that monsterous though

I used a oem plastic tank and cut a hole in the top, made a bracket to hold the in tank pump. Works great. I'll see if I can find some pics.

What's in the way of the tank? I've got a '90 Blazer tank in my '72.

My current exhaust routing dosen't help and I'm not willing to have it sit lower than the previous one and as it turned out, I'm not wanting to cut my cross member to raise it through the floor either.

An intank pump retro-fitted to my poly tank may be the answer but I like the idea of a fuel cell, just waiting for pics to be sent from the 'fuel Cell Guy'

Did get it installed and running at least, mounted to old 90 blazer tank in the back bed for 'testing' purposses.

OIC, I got exhaust after the tank swap. And I removed the crossmember and fabbed a new one (the old one was pretty rusty anyway). Looks good! Looks alot like the engine bay of my K5. Only mine's closer to the ground

That's the high pressure line I had made using hydraulic crimped on ends instead of the ones supplied with the kit.

It's a PSC ram assist kit, see the aluminum reservoir on the rad support where my spare battery is supposed to be?

Only allowed an 18" hose from the pump, so that's where it gets to live.

Installed/running and semi tuned.

As every install has it's stories...
We finished the install/start up late on a Sunday night, backed the thing outta the shop and went home.
I left feeling like it was running pretty crappy and no where near how I expected an injected 383 to run.

I goofed with the timing but didn't start to worry cause the I knew the plug wires were total crap. (figured they were messing with the ECM)
The new 'LiveWire' plug wires came Fri afternoon and I installed them on Sat.
In the mean time, I'd been reading all about how a stock TBI won't properly run a 383 and was truley beginning to worry now.

Okay, long/short of it...
Plug wires 6 & 8 were switched on the dizzy. Amazing how well it did run like that.
So now it runs like it should, I can power brake my 39.5's!

Still needs some minor tuning but wow, what a difference.

Can't wait to wheel it and have throttle response/power on demand.

1st time ever doing the swap, it's somewhere around a 7 or 8.
Takes a fair amount of planning and set up to get it right the first time 'round.
I also did quite a few other mods while I was in there, so that all added to the total.

Doing it a 2nd time will be a 3.

Will I do it on another truck? Absolutely!

I went with the Painless #60101

I have the 'longer' version for my TPI and wish I had just got the normal harness, it's way to long IMO.

Needed the room to flex so I did what I had to do.

Last pic shows the same exact 'position' sitting on the concrete block prior to the trim job.

I hear ya but it was a necessary evil.

Plans are in the works for a bolt on fender lip that will (should) look like the originals.

It works and that's my story.

The one ton conversion is the easy part but start adding in the gears/spooled front axle/drive line e-brake/braided brake lines/roll cage/fender clearancing/detroit locker/HD diff covers/Alcan lift springs/zero rates/tilt column/cable shifter/doubler/built tranny/cardon joints/after market drive shafts/beefier axles/rock protection/ram assist steering/skid plates/383 TBI motor/2spd elec fan/remote coolers/rear discs/39.5 TSL's/fuel cell/winch/long travel shocks/bead locks/bumpers/rock sliders/loud exhaust and triple sticks, then you got some work to do.

Exactly!
I devised a way to duplicate them in about 10 minutes a side.
This way when I bend one and I'm pretty sure I will, I can throw the next one on without any issue or long term involved body work.

special-K, those, the off-road buckets/harness/console and toilet paper.
