Hello, I know it has been awhile since you posted looking for an ebrake cable. Can I ask if you ever found it. I am looking for the same cable.
Thanks,

Re: Need help finding the front e-brake cable for '71 C20 Longhorn.

Hi,
This is so weird b/c I haven't checked this thread in years.
Since no one ever answered, I haven't done anything. Just keep parking on as close to level as possible.
I searched all the suppliers I could find and no replacement. Not sure what to think?

Anybody? Ideas?

Iirc the front ebrake cable is the same for all 69-72 trucks. I converted my 72 3/4 long bed into a SWB 1/2 ton (swapped frames) and used the original front cable (from pedal to frame rail)

Try contacting these guys. Bruin brake cable. http://www.ebay.com/usr/bruinbrakecables
I ordered rear cables for a 72 swb, they appear to be very well made product. I seem to recall a piece of literature coming with my cables saying that they can make almost any cable.

Here is the one I used. It's AC delco and fit great. Fits 1972 truck as per AC delco website.

Re: Need help finding the front e-brake cable for '71 C20 Longhorn.

Thanks guys. I'm going to look into this. I do forget some as it has been so long, but originally I checked the LMC catalog.

This is what confused me: The only one close is part #34-3824 (for a 69-72, 2wd 3/4 ton, W/OUT the TH400)
But mine has the TH400?
Here's the page: Front cables are listed under (3).

**Also notice there two part #'s listed for these trucks (34-3820, 34-3824)**

I think this is the route I'll have to go.
I've checked:
-Classic Industries
-Brothers
-LMC
and all of don't sell a front parking cable for a BB w/TH400...

Check *bay, Inline tube sells on there for list but I do see some other vendors for slightly less on some parts.

Re: Need help finding the front e-brake cable for '71 C20 Longhorn.

The th400 has no bearing on the size of the cable. Like I said they are all the same. The different part number listed is for 67-68 trucks, which use a pull handle to activate the e brake as opposed to a pedal.

Thanks, I guess you should know you have the same eng./trans. as me!

I think you can see where I am confused though. All the one's I found kept saying w/out T400. Didn't make since to me... Oh well...

Re: Need help finding the front e-brake cable for '71 C20 Longhorn.

The intermediate cable is different on TH400 equipped trucks as it attaches to the trans crossmember instead of using the rods that go to the frame. It is not necessary to use this setup when using a TH400 but it is "correct".
