In changing over to the 383,in my 90 K1500,is there any chance of bolting up a TBI from a big block on the 350 intake, other concerns are what computer modifications if any? can I do for this conversion

Re: 383 want bigger TBI

The intake will need to be bored/hogged out, otherwise the big block TBI will hang over the edges and create a helluva ledge for the incoming charge to try to get past.

Re: 383 want bigger TBI

why bother with that intake?

buy a 4bbl intake and an adapter plate and make that work, I hear the single plane high rise style are the best for tbi setups.

You can use a big block tbi and you can get bigger injectors and have the computer tuned/flashed or chips burnt for it.

As for fuel then an adjustable pressure reg. would help as well as an in tank tpi camaro fuel pump upgrade.

Re: 383 want bigger TBI

Check out the eBay store for extreme EFI They bore out the 350 tbi to 50mm from stock 44. Not only will it be bigger bores but it will also have better bushings for the butterfly shafts and some airflow mods too. They also sell the sbc manifold bored out to 50mm and gaskets to match.

You will also need to put in a better fuel pump (AC Delco 241 or 281 I can't remember) and an 18 pound regulator spring.
