55 views and not a single reply? come on guys we are a better forum than that. I need an a/c compressor bracket and there are a million on google. I could really use some advice from someone who has already done it.

Re: what type of a/c compressor bracket do you have?

alternator/generator is on the drivers side for chevy old trucks, not sure why you'd want to route the ac hoses around the motor
possibly the transplanted motor has the alt on pass side? easy fix by moving the alt

i wanted the compressor low, in sort of a stealth location and made all of my brackets
ac compressor, alternator and power steering pump all fit with room to spare for a blower

yes I have a small block. I was hoping to add the compressor without undoing the work that's been done already. if I have to I will move the alternator. I was just hoping I didn't need to.

Re: what type of a/c compressor bracket do you have?

I plan to use an Allen Grove bracket on my 56. I used one of his brackets on a previous project and it worked great.

Re: what type of a/c compressor bracket do you have?

I stumbled on allen groves on google and his stuff looks good. I will also look up bills. thanks for the help guys. a/c install in a b!tch with a smoothed firewall. no landmarks for mounting. I'm enjoying it though.

Re: what type of a/c compressor bracket do you have?

Without seeing photos of what you have and want to retain it is near impossible for anyone to make a viable suggestion outside of suggesting a manufacture for brackets like Rapid49 and Solidaxle did. You can also check the Vintage Air catalog for a bracket as they sell several different ones for small blocks. Several pages of them in fact. https://www.vintageair.com/brackets/...0Small%20Block

I'm not seeing any from Vintage air that leaves the compresser on the right side with the alternator though. They have one that puts it on the left side that might work while leaving the alternator where it is.

Re: what type of a/c compressor bracket do you have?

my vintage air came with a bracket that mounted the compressor high, i made my bracket to keep it low
i still have the va allen grove bracket if you want it, it should fit in a usps mid size priority box
i'll take a pic and get the model number so you can look at it on the ag site
if nothing else you can modify it

Re: what type of a/c compressor bracket do you have?

it's a $98 (plus shipping) bracket on the allen grove site
$25 with free shipping gets it out of my barn and gives me a little gas $ to go to the post office
i take paypal, if that sounds good, pm me your address and i'll give you my paypal info

Re: what type of a/c compressor bracket do you have?

you know, i thought $25 shipped ($11 bracket, $14 shipping) was a good price, especially for the stupid pricer they want
at least have the decency of replying 'not interested' after i went thru the trouble of taking and posting pictures in your thread
