Rear corner glass early 50s Chevy truck

My dad has both rear corner windows (nu-vue windows) in good condition from a early 50s Chevy truck. I see new reproductions for around $60 each ($120 for the pair). Are original worth more and does anyone know how much? Please, serious answers only.

I can't imagine that original scratched windows would be worth anything. On some cars they would be as the glass would be marked and being original would be desired by some restoration guys. But these windows have nothing on them (that I remember) so I doubt it.

They are tempered and I believe all the replacements are safety plate, I have a pair of reproduction safety plate ones waiting for my project to be finished.

There’s a stamp on them that says “safety plate.” My Dad had the truck in the late 70s, but I believe they are original windows. It wasn’t his driver. Someone gave him the truck for parts. I don’t think there are any scratches but I’ve only seen pictures.

Looks like you joined the board just to ask about that. I'll say this, check prices for similar windows on Ebay and price accordingly. Or stick them on ebay all cleaned up with real good photos and see what the bidding goes to.

There are some guys who like the old glass that looks old for their rat rods but the majority of the guys here want glass as perfect as they can possibly find.

Here are two pair to watch to see if they sell for the asking price https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-PAI...JahLSC&vxp=mtr

Same guy has both pair.

Re: Rear corner glass early 50s Chevy truck

Not sure how it’s relevant, but that is why I first joined. I’ve always loved the early 50s Chevy trucks and I hope to own one someday. I appreciate the honesty and expertise. If non-owners/guys just learning aren’t welcome, I’ll gladly go elsewhere.

Hi Nelson. Non-owners and guys just learning are very welcome! There are many talented, knowledgeable and helpful people here. Join in, learn, contribute and have fun.

In fact, last week I was cleaning my shop, found a set of original corner windows and wondered to myself if they have any value. Now I know.
