No...that is my Dad doing the dirty work for me. He is always giving and asks nothing in return. Posting this pic of him is my way of saying thanks, I'll probably get a ear full when he see's this!

Re: Thanks Dad.........
Reno,
That's what dad's do, if every father followed your dad's lead/example, there would be less "fathers" and more dad's and daddy's in the world. My hat's off to him for being a great dad and to you for recognizing it.

Re: Thanks Dad.........
My dad's getting on up there in age. He currently is battling lung cancer. I don't believe I have much time left with him. All of my best qualities came from him, and there's no other person I'd rather be like in the world. He is my hero.

Re: Thanks Dad.........
I love my dad we used to do darned near everything together. I have always been there for him never asked him for anything. But anymore he wont lift a finger to help me treats me like i owe him something. I have a $90,000 mortgage on our family farm that he would have lost if it hadnt been for my wife and I to bail him out of a tight spot. He gets to live in his house and pays no rent. Im just confused. You have a awesome dad there if hes willing to help out like that and take interest with your projects my hats off to him. I hope when my kids are older that i will be able to be involved in their lives and activities like that.

Don't worry, if you're lucky and he lives a long time you'll pay him back in spades. A good Son carries a family.

Re: Thanks Dad.........
Gentleman, my dad who turns 51 in 10 days, was the reason I started working on cars. He gave me nothing and made me work for everything, I used to hate the fact that other kids were given everything and I worked my ass off growing up to have what I have. Now I am almost 30 and I attribute all of my good qualities to my fathers teaching, no matter how bad I hated it then, I see now that because of that I am who I am now. I appreciate things more now because of him. In 2005 he had a stroke and I almost lost him. Since that time, we have become more close than we ever were before. We have started a business together, and I know above all that at a moments notice I can call my dad and he will do anything for me or my son (his only full blooded grandchild), and in return he knows he can do the same. He has been there for me in hard times and saved me from pure alcoholism while I was going through my divorce. My only hope that I can be half the man my dad is, cause if I am I will be doing better than 95% of the fathers in the world.
Your dad is a great man, and this is a great thread that you have started to honor him! |

Re: Thanks Dad.........
Thats very cool of him, its all about physical condition and Im glad he's well enough to help you out. I lost my dad, but he left me a great old truck and an admiration of old chevys. My favorite pic is one of him standing next to his orange '55 chevy with me in his arms, when he was about 27 and I was about a year old(1967). I'll post that pic someday.
