What drew you to the 67-72 Chevy/GMC Trucks?

well we got into them cause my bro got a 71 chevy for his 15th birthday and him and our dad started to restore it. not too long after that my dad started to buy these old trucks and part them out and sell parts and started Cheyenne Parts North East (CPNE) and then he got a 67 that he was gonna part out and i really wanted it because i just loved my brothers truck and all the others my dad had. he then gave that truck to me when i was about 10 and we got her street legal and we drove it to carlisle and my brother drove his 71. a little later we started to tear her apart to restore her and right now its getting close to being done for when i get my license in the spring.

My dad has had about a dozen of these things since I was a kid. I have always loved them. From the sound of gasoline sloshing around in the fuel tank while taking a left turn on the way to Sunday School in his Solid White 69 CST. Or mabey when I was 16 and I was doing donuts in his 2 tone Baby Blue and white 72 Cheyenne Super 400 V8 in my high school parking lot. And Thank the Lord I am fortunate enough to own arguablly the best looking GM truck ever produced. and I hope my children will have some fond memories when they get older, of me and this old truck. I just cant explain it any better than that.

Back in 1990 there was a truck in the Lawton,Oklahoma area called "OLD BLUE".I think the guys name was Stacey Carrol? Anyhow,that truck was F'n FAST! AND beautiful.I wish I would have taken pics,but never did. I think it ran in the 6's 1/8th mile. If anyone should know the truck or have pics,please post them. That is what got me hooked on these trucks.

My dad had them new when I was a kid (I am old remember), but then my late brother gave me a 67 short-stepper for my first car. I have owned many since then with the bulk being short 2wd's but 5 K5's and about that many Burbs in there for good measure!!

Not sure what exactly gets my juices flowing about these trucks...but I really love all the proportions and lines. The stance is very good...slightly aggressive.

A half inch here...or a half inch there...and the whole thing would be different. they obviously hit the nail on the head with these 67-72.

I would have to say that my passion for this body style started back over 10 years ago, when I had driven a co-workers 71 SWB with a 400 V8. It had taken me 8 years to finally pick one up that wasn't a total mess, didn't have severe cancer, didn't have a blown engine, did not cost me an arm or a leg....or my first born, and with as little mileage as possible. I was picky. I finally picked up a 1968 C10, here about three years ago, it had 47,000 ORIGINAL DOCUMENTED miles on it, it had a 300hp 327 with a TH400 tranny, 12 bolt rear axle with 3.23 gearing, and the body was in a very acceptable condition, with the only rust holes being in the rocker panels, and a couple dings on the right front and rear fenders, and on the grill. It also had a very acceptable interior, with only the drivers seat and armrest being worn. I was very pleased with my find.

About two and a half years ago my dad and I were talking about getting an old car or truck to work on for a little project for us. So one my dad picked me up from school and told me we were going to buy and we went to see. When I laid my eyes on it I said that was it, I'm buying the truck and ever since then these trucks have really grown on me.

Well I kinda fell into it. My truck was given to me. It was purchased new in 1971 by my grand parents who bought it for my mom's HS graduation present. My mom drove the truck for years and it eventually found its way to my grandpa's barn and when I caught wind that its fate may be a junk yard, I piped up and grabbed the title as quick as I could. I did it for nothing else then sentimental value. Every person in my family has driven this truck; my mom and dad used to take road trips in it back in college. Once it was in my posession, I was going to do a STOCK resto. Well, the more I looked at it, the more I loved it and the more opportunity I saw for adding my own touchs. It is now in the process of becoming a resto rod to the Nth degree.
