Re: Is there such a wheel?? 15" x 8" steelies - 6 lug

The rims on my truck now are off of a Tundra or Tacoma, I don't remember. I want some fatty whites and steelies in a bad way..... I dislike the 20's more and more everyday.....lol!!

as far as rims that fit our trucks, I've seen everything from newer GMC and Chevrolet trucks, Toyota Tundra and Tacomas, and Full size Nissans, however I believe you have to do some minor modifications and possibly use a spacer (since the backspacing is screwy).

BUT, it is interesting trying to come up with something fresh!

Thank you, I appreciate the comment! I'm looking for more of this look...without the terrible photoChop hack of course.

Edit;
I'm in "work mode" on it now, fixing some "issues" from the PO... such as cold welds and 10 degree rear shocks, compressor and some cleaning and re-painting.

Re: Is there such a wheel?? 15" x 8" steelies - 6 lug

Ok here is the style of wheel I'm talking about. I have a set of four. One fairly nicely painted, one primered and two that need to be blasted. I think there might be a small ding or two on the lip. By the time you paid what Im into them plus shipping and fixing em up Im guessing it would be close to 500 bucks...definatly not worth doing. Just put the word out locally and they will eventually turn up.

Re: Is there such a wheel?? 15" x 8" steelies - 6 lug

Doug I"m pretty sure that wheel was available on 4WD Blazers at least through 1980. A full wheel cover was an option over them.
Too bad your rallys are 6 lug or I'd talk ya out of em when you do find a set of these stockers. I'm a 5 holer now.

Well... they will be going up for sale (all 5 of them) after a find a set of steelies. Funny how my mind changes from one look to another so quick.

You guys are wealth of info on these subject. That's why I absolutely love this board!!!

07-08 FJ Cruiser rims, cheap and to the point. However, I'm pumped now to try and find GM steelies that are 8" wide. I think the FJ rims are 7" wide. ah to have one more inch, but I digress.......
BE CAREFUL ! I put some Tundra 16" wheels on my ol 70 before the Blazer Rallyes and before those awesome steelies I got from CG . Anyway be sure if your running drums that the Toyota wheels sit flat to the drum w/o interferance from the rivots cause the lugs will never tighten down .
(ruined some studs) , "DANGER" I was lucky could have been bad !
Any questions PLEASE ask .......

Re: Is there such a wheel?? 15" x 8" steelies - 6 lug

Thanks for posting the pics Keith!! I wondered about the center hole, I guess the newer wheels are all hub centric. BUT they do have big possibilities if you want a standard low buck, 17" rim!

NONHOG,
I never thought about the rivets interfering!!! Guess a little grinding action would be in the cards if you ran Toyota rims......

Will the 15 inch steelies miss disc brakes?I know the stock 6 lug wheels wont.

They came on some 70's and 80's 4x4 trucks that didn't get the rally wheel option. They came on all of CUCV miltary Blazers also.

NOTE to anybody wanting them. As Doug and myself both found out, there are at least 3 different styles of these wheels. One style has 4 nubs for hub cap, 4 slits around the outside, and no dimples between the lug holes. The second has 3 nubs for hub cap, 4 slits around the outside, and has dimples between the lug holes. The third has 3 nubs for hub cap, NO slits around the outside, and has dimples between the lug holes. The third style also has holes for a rally style center cap, but I'm not sure if they came on there, or were added.

Yes, that's the one I'll be sending. It has a few coats on paint on it. It also has some surface rust on the bead, but its nothing that couldn't be cleaned up.

They exist, I found some when lookin for my 15 X 8's, but I think they are harder to come by than the 8" ones. I have no idea what they came on originally.
