Re: What Muffler to use? No drone wanted.

I ran two Edelbrock SDT's that were dumped right before the axle and they had no drone at all. Not stainless but have a nice coating on them.

Thanks, and your red truck sound great. If I like them, my black truck will get a similar treatment when I do the tune on it.

For the '70 K10 SWB I plan to put in the Dynomax "Hemi super turbo" mufflers, since it is a short length of pipe and I want it some what quiet on long drives.

Hey! Wait! You mean I read through this whole thread and didn't even get to find out if you were happy with your choice?

I'm leaning toward magnaflow myself, after everything I've read tonight, so I'd like to know how they turned out for ya?

Spintech. Haven't installed mine yet but read great things, watched lots of Youtube clips and talked to the owner for a good bit.

NOT hooker aerochambers. I have one on my regal and i think that it may be the reason for the latest crappy rattle vibration ruckus i am experiencing. Plus, it drones if i correctly recall the sound it made new before it started making even more noise. From what i have gathered these mufflers had qc issues and the parts inside have likely come loose based on what i have read from others' experiences.

I'm very happy with the sound but I haven't driven it yet so I can't tell you for sure about the drone factor yet. I'm pretty sure it won't be an issue.
