Need Ideas "Boring Glove Box Door"

My glove box door needs something. It looks like a big blank canvas that could use something to make it look more complete. What did you guys do that gave your door a little personality?
I was thinking about adding one of these to the top right corner.

1967-68 Glove Box Door Emblem.

Lower right hand corner. Or top, either looks good to me.

That emblem, paint, and a light coating of cheap spray can bedliner makes a cool match to the dash:

Re: Need Ideas "Boring Glove Box Door"

IIRC your truck is a Cheyenne/10 and the door is ochre, nothing but a latch and paint.

Any badge would be more correct in the lower right quadrant and the 67-68 custom style looks very much like it belongs. To that end I would use the factory placement from the assembly manual or measured from a 67-68 door.

Or maybe a custom insert using a reproduction Cheyenne Super door chrome trim but with a textured black insert (like a 67) with the 67-68 emblem overlayed. This would balance the cluster visually.

Then you could dress it up a little more with a key lock if you don't have one.

Reproduction period SoCal drag strip decals do anything for you?

Maybe a custom caricature on the door appeals to you.
Of course the man to do one up would be Dave Deal aka Big Deal. http://www.bigdealart.com/

Or if you were a big "Car toons" fan then have George Trosley do something for you. http://www.georgetrosley.com/page8120.html

I plastered mine with old hot rod style stickers. Made the truck faster.

Mine was painted blue like the rest of the truck, so I sent it to Nub Grafix, (along with the ash tray), for some paint..

1967-68 Glove Box Door Emblem.
I put one of those on my glove box, but I painted the Chevy emblem red to match my horn button.

Re: Need Ideas "Boring Glove Box Door"

Ok, I thought I'd try this. I know it's probably sacrilegious to the purist but I just wanted something a bit more unobtrusive or delicate so to speak. It's an early Corvette radio block off plate emblem. I didn't drill any holes so I can easily remove it if I want to. Whadaya think? Too Sissy??

Re: Need Ideas "Boring Glove Box Door"

Looks fine but I'd still go down toward the lower right to balance things visually.

Cut a hole recessed and put the GPS in it.

I like it, but I would put it lower.

Thanks a lot Tim. Do you have any idea how long it took me to trim the double stick tape around it?

Anyway, It looks like the popular consensus is to move it lower, so I'll give it a try. Not going to take a picture because I'm sure someone will say something like "Another inch to the right".

Yes I do, too long! Anyway whatever you decide is the way to go. My basic paint program won't let me twist an image to "move it" for you. If it hasn't been there long or been too hot a little hair drier heat might do the trick and be reusable. The double sided emblem tape needs a good solar hit to start the permabond.

An inch with us it optimistic, more like 3mm left and 2mm down!

Re: Need Ideas "Boring Glove Box Door"

I like it up high, actually. It "looks wrong" to me, but I think the only reason it does is because I'm so used to seeing an emblem in the lower spot. I think there's some kind of art term for that phenomenon.

Anyway: one vote for keeping it where it is.

Here's what I did. It balances out the Dash. It's a Chrome door that a friend of mine covered in Vinyl.
