700r4 install

1986 c10. Original owner swapped the original 700r4 out for the turbo 350. I swapped that 350 for a newer 700r4. At the time we just plugged in the 4 pin plug (only has 3 wires) in the 700 trans and it ran perfectly fine for years. Now that I’m requiring the entire truck with the AAW classic update kit, I have come to the transmissions plug and notice it has two connectors that I don’t remember having plugged in. Maybe some one can help me out with what I need to make this trans work. TV cable is set up and good, speed sending unit is wired to my Dakota digital gauges. I don’t want to have a toggle switch. I’ve heard there is a vacuum module that engages the lockup? Also, I’ve heard two of the wires coming my transmissions plug can be connected and then the other one can have 12v switched power and it will function perfect? I’m lost and it’s practically the only thing left for this truck to get on the road.
