No I didn't drop the pan. The trans was a running trans. I know the car. We pulled the motor and did an LS swap. I pulled the trans loose. The only fluid I lost was the fluid in the lines. Took it home , put it in my truck. Never took out the converter , never lost any fluid other than what came out of the lines and what was in the cooler. The trans should have been pretty close to full I would have thought it anyway. I'm going to put some more fluid in it and see what happens. And thanks to ALL of you guys for the suggestions. I'll let ya know what happens.

Re: Transmission has me pulling my hair out !!!

well a good sign is you have 1st&reverse so at least it can move if needed

do like everyone suggested and keep adding fluid.at this point you'll only be out the cost of the juice.

one question did the trans mount easy?
its real easy too muff up the pump in the front of the trans if you dont get that t c too seat correctly....just sayin, but usually you wouldnt have any gear at all.

i'm not a fan of auto's at all my left foot falls asleep too easy

Re: Transmission has me pulling my hair out !!!

people in the know realize when a tranny is moved without the driveshaft yoke in place it pukes fluid all over the floor

Are you saying that each time you have put fluid in it, it came up to the full mark?

What dipstick and tube are you using, the one for the truck or the vette? One may have a deeper pan than the other.

Re: Transmission has me pulling my hair out !!!

no one here has heard of a manual valve body?!

Drive it around the block starting with shifter in 1st. Get up to about 20, shift to 2nd. Shift into 3rd at 40 or so.

talk to the guy you got it from. Ask him if it's got a manual valve body

There's plenty more reading out there but these should get you "in the know"
