Radio and Speakers HELP

Was going to hook up radio in truck. Never been cut out so was gonna hook radio up that's in it. Problem is coming out of the radio I only have a hot, ground, right speaker, left speaker, and remote I believe.

Main problem is that the speaker wire coming out of the radio is only 1 solid wire and going to the speakers I need 2 wires. Please help.

Re: Radio and Speakers HELP

Does yours look like this? This is the hookup for an AM original radio. No FM and single speaker. These trucks did not come with two speakers originally.

Either way as long as the truck has a good ground. While you are at it, check the ground cable behind the cab to the engine and make sure the ground from battery negative to engine has clean connection.

You mention it's never been cut. Can you post a pic of the AM/FM cassette and find a model and manufacturer?

If the radio is a stereo it will have two wires for the speakers. If it's a mono only one wire so you probably will have to split the wire if you have two speakers installed.

Yeah. I understand that the dash hasn't been cut, but what I wanted to know is if the radio is in the stock location, what radio you have in there.
