Man, that is nice.

Whats up with the Chevy grill emblem, though? Someone painted it? Looks good, just wondering.

That's emblem color looks correct, I have one just like it on a 73 grille.

That is a P series step van emblem. It is the correct size for the 73-74 grilles. For so many years the correct aluminum insert emblems weren't available so when people wanted to refresh their grills they went with these. The emblem should be yellow. The last year for blue bowties on the grilles and hubcaps for the trucks was 1972

Re: my Stock 73 short bed

Dave, a lot of people bought those bowties since nothing was available. and the original thin aluminum yellow ones got so faded and beat up. They weren't even as thick as an aluminum can. The glue dried out and most fell off. I am glad you were able to hang onto the truck. I think you had just purchased it when I first started talking with you. You have definitely made it look a lot better! I like the blue bowtie even if it isn't right. Looks good on a white truck

Awesome truck. That's the 73 version of what my 80 rolled off the showroom floor as. Really cool to see!

Re: my Stock 73 short bed

How well does the shifter work? The one in the 82 I bought 5 years ago was unbelievably sloppy. I managed to shim it up a bit, but none of the main parts like the "shift bowl" are available anymore. I finally gave up and installed a 350 /TH350 and auto trans column.

Very nice engine compartment you have there! Mine had the 250-six with integrated head/intake manifold and "PAIR" system -- the cans on top of the valve cover.
