Took it out with my youngest tonight. (she's 8)
Just went up a local class 4 road but it's pretty steep and has plenty of mud. (decent shake down trail) Everything worked great, the TBI ran sweet. Tube doors even stayed shut while flexing.  Can't wait to hit Rausch. NOTE: Installed a tube running from the front roll cage hoop to the firewall to try and combat the firewall wobble I was getting. Worked awesome, flexed it out with no door binding.

We'll soon see how it works out, never know...it might rip right off the floor. I made two 4x6 plates with 6 relief cuts in each so it offered more weldable area instead of just the perimeter. Came off the front hoop at a 90 degree angle and now they head uphill due to the cage leaning back, no biggie. It has made a huge difference, like I said...we'll see if it isn't to stiff now. |

Are those firewall supports holding? I was trying to think of a way to git rid of the flex and that is the best idea I have seen yet. I had thought about tying the halo hoop to the windshield frame but I think it would crack the windshield for sure. Awesome ride looks like it works well.

Man, just watching your posts makes me want to go work on my truck! It's great watching your rig morph into what it is today. I know this is old , but how are your rock sliders fabbed up? I want to set my k5 up with that kind of protection. Also you mentioned you were thinking of going back to a stock bumper setup, and putting the winch behind the grille. Any thoughts? I really like your tube door design,with the quick change back to the original doors. Your a genius! Also your extra support on the cage to the firewall is just what I was looking for. You probably already know I'm trying to set up a cage in my k5, and need any info I can get.Alright, enough already! Thank's alot!

Your right though, it's been a morph-venture for sure. Rock sliders are holding up great but are getting moved soon. Going to try and raise em up another 3/4 inches or so cause they get 'used' all the time. (they hit and I'm looking for more ground clearance) The winch will get laid on it's back and slid further back between the frame rails then remounted. The bigger issue is finding a way to mount the stock bumper and still have the strength needed to play the off road game. (surviving the bumper bashing) Will most likely have to build a tube frame behind it to provide the outer edge support needed. Pics of the current rock sliders and cage mount for ya. |

Are the two tubes that are visible in that pic that go from the frame to the rails the only attachment point for the rails?
