If you only knew . . .... Ken sold the old motor from the 77 to me (it only needed valve seals right??). I tore the motor down & cleaned it up. Scraped all the gunk of the top of the pistons from 80K worth of use. I had the heads cleaned up w/a valve job & new springs installed; matched & verified the installed heights/pressures, installed a new cam, timing set, & oil pump. Then I painted the assembly w/some black POR-15 & added some bling (powder coated black valve covers, billet breathers, & polished SS fasteners).

Where is it now? Sitting on a dolley in my garage waiting for a home. My 68 beater was the intended hole to fill but my city had a different view on building a vehicle in your driveway.

So.... I got a decent drivetrain @ a decent price only to have it stalled by the man......

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

n2trux, awesome truck!! now that you have had the Ramjet for a couple of years (did I read the dates right?) Can you gives some feedback on likes/dislikes? I am very seriously considering it myself since I want reliability as well as better MPG.

Re: 77 Cheyenne meets Ramjet 350 by N2TRUX

Unfortunately it hasn't been put to good use for quite some time. A blown water pump gasket put it on the sidelines, and it has been collecting dust for a couple of seasons.

Despite that, I can report that I am very pleased with the Ramjet as a "total" package.

It starts with a bump of the key even after setting for weeks at a time. It has a nice lope that lets you know it's not stock. A rap on the throttle runs the RPM up smooth and quick.

After the initial break in period, the power level is where you want it. It pulls nice out of the hole, even with my dismal 3.08 gears. It's nice and smooth through the gears, unless you hit it hard.

In all, I can highly recommend the RamJet 350 as a great package.

Thanks for that update! Since you have been letting it collecting dust for a couple of seasons, maybe I should take it off your hands ;-)

It's a great combo in my mind. I'm sure there are better deals, but I couldn't find any that wouldn't have cost more in the long run.

No regrets here. I spent the past few seasons traveling with my family. I watched my daughter play volleyball all over the country. She is now a Senior in High School, and will be off to College next year. Those are memories I wouldn't trade for 10 trucks....

Awesome! I am right there with you buddy! I have cancelled a many fishing trip to go watch my little one play fastpitch. One thing you can't ever get back is time with your kids. They go from babies to Seniors in no time
Glad you got to see you have your priorities in order.

That's funny Ramair. Maybe that's why Ken's truck runs so good is because of the droid army.

It's a trim level. Silverado was top of the line Cheyenne was below it. On th outside the biggest difference is the tailgate trim piece. It is much smaller than the one on the Silverado.
