Help me follow this please

71 gmc 350, I hooked up the starter and can't get the motor to crank. If i jump the starter it will, but nothing from the dash. I replaced the ignition switch and lock. I have a 3 wire starter with the purple wire closest to the block and yellow capped off after it splits to the coil. I have no power to my coil. Any ideas?

Also if your looking under the hood, the farthest driver side connector on the firewall has a brown, brown and white, and I think blue or black wire. It is cut off. Is that for the emmissions and tranny that I shouldn't worry about?

I have the wiring diagram but still can't seem to figure this out. Thanks for the help.

The neutral safetly switch looks like was jumped with a wire between the 2 plugs. What do you think?

Re: Help me follow this please

i would just start pulling down bundles and checking for shorts dude..
sounds like a major issue, check where the wires are folded, and where they go close to high vibe/rub areas.

you gotta just start form the beginning and have a big pack of spices and heatshrink.

sorry to tell you man, gotta work from the beginning, hey here's an idea start at the fuze box and work your way out.

good luck

Re: Help me follow this please

Well I did what you said...ended up being pretty easy. From the battery to the passenger fender, was missing a wire. Sorry for the elementry vocab, but good news, I found it. Thanks to whomever made the wiring diagram
