hey guys,

Just wondering what seats can be easily put in my truck. I have a factory bench right now. It was reupholstered before i got it, so it looks good, but it's soooo bouncy! i've hit bumps on the highway doing 60 and nearly hit my head on the roof!!

I would prefer a bucket, but a nice bench with a console or something would be good too.
Any ideas on some good donor vehicles?? what have you guys used?? thanks

i have a bench out of a 90 to 98 chevy it dosent have a console but i like it alot and it bolts in very easily, i have also heard that ford benches work pretty well but i dont know personally

Alot of late models will work. Chevy, Dodge, Ford all has nice seats, find and pick what you want. Good luck.

1996 60/40 split folding console power lumber and adj front to rear. would be nice I am looking for one having a tought time finding one thought !

that's kinda what I had in mind, Jackal.....I really like the 99-present chevy 60/40 bench seats. They have adjustable lumbar, console and biult in seat belts! What truck is your seat from?

Also it looks like your truck doesn't have a gas pedal??? that's okay, mine doesn't either....I haven't been to the wreckers to find one yet!

how much would a good seat with no rips or stains go for????

I just picked up a bench seat with the fold down arm rest out of a late model chevy for 75 bucs! What a Steal!

Jackal I think I have seat envy... Were they a straight bolt in? Or did you have to re-drill?

O'l Buck: Did you have to re-drill?

Anyone: If you re-drill the holes, do you use large washers on the backside to prevent tear through? Or is that really a problem?

I ripped some seats out of a 92 crown victoria. 8 way with lumbar. I got some steel from home depot and made my own brackets. All you have to do is wire 12 volts and you are done. Didnt even have to raise them up either. All for 50 bucks! Just make sure you take a 12 volt source with you to the junk yard. The seats will not move with out juice!

Mine are out of a 90 cutlass Supreme. Made brackets and shimmed the seat angle a little. Belts out of any late model GM truck bolt right into my 71. Good searching. Looks some guys have better bone yard choices than we do up north. Especially when its snowing and blowing. Good luck in your search.

It's been awhile since I checked this thread 68_Step, yes, I did have to redrill the floor, but I suspect you would have to redrill for most any seat except for the stock seats.

sorry about being so slow to respond i was out for a week. Yeah i had to redrill. Just becareful to make sure you can get to the spot you put it for the hole. Everything lined up amazingly well on this one. i had to grind a little on the corner of an old thread mount to get my huge flat washers to clear. If i had it to do again i think i might drill the holes and weld on nuts on 2x2in plates onto the frame. That would have required removing the cab at the time but i had to do that anyways for some rust trearment, cab corners, cab mounts, etc. I picked up the set of seats for a mere 200 bucks. One was bent we tore it down to the frame and broke it and reset it.... kind of like a broken limb.

GL if any one would like i can help you look for a set here out of san antonio.

these are out of a 99 ext cab trick door.

I think they have more hieght under thm than most. On the driver side theres a big amp and under the middle seat i can fit my bio book and my physics book.... thats about 5 and a half inches

gas pedals are for ppl with soft feet. heh... actually id rather have a pedal it might feel like im pushin more and i might not push so hard. lol
