Exactly what it says. For those of you running power seats out of a newer chevy truck, how did you power the seats up? Im running mine from a fuse, with a ground to one of the bolts holding the seat down. I have blown two fuses so far. I dont recall off hand if it was a 20 amp or a 30 amp fuse. Are you guys using a relay? Im almost ready to save up and buy a painless wiring kit and redo all the wiring in the suburban.

I would run a large guage wire all th way to the terminal block by the battery and use a circuit breaker, that way if you get carried away doing 3 functions at once on the seats and it kicks out it will reset as soon as it cools off.

Where can you get the curcit breaker? Auto parts store or radio shack? Thanks

Any parts store should have them up to 50 amps...I think the smallest ones are 20 amps. It is just a small silver box with two studs and two mounting ears.

I have the seat out of a '69 Thunderbird in my '68 stepside. It's up for overhaul now -- the electric seat functions haven't worked for a few years and with 2 german shepherds, it needs serious reupholstering. But I would recommend at least a 10 gauge wire from Ign Unfused in the terminal block with a 30 amp breaker in the power lead. Ground lead bolts to one of the old seat mount holes in the floor. The 30 amp breaker I got at a junkyard out of the F@rd I also got I also got a replacement joystick toggle switch from. When it worked, it was fun, and you could adjust the seat to ease an accelerator cramp. The relay set up is not a bad idea at all, since these seats have a heavy draw.
