A few weeks ago I bought a 72 blazer, hoping to clean it up and have something to goof off in on the weekends, so I wouldn't have to take my truck off road. Now it looks like I have a full blown off-body restoration. Tuesday I'm picking up my second blazer for parts. Mostly the rear bed area. Mine is swiss cheese on the right rear quarter panel and rusted out around both wheel wells. Since I'm going this far, I might as well paint the frame. Should have never went to a car show saturday.
I've been convinced that the easiest thing to do is cut my blazers in half. and use the front, top, drivetrain, tailgate and doors from mine, and the bed from the other. new floor pans and rockers. It is overwhelming. I need to just compartmentalize and focus on small projects.

The good thing is everyone has been very helpful. A friend is picking up my parts blazer for me on Tuesday, Monday he is picking up a Yenko Camaro....what a let down.

I am in the same boat, I started out thinking I would drive it as I worked on it. I am building a daily driver and I am now looking to paint the frame and everything. I am making the whole thing with the sheet metal from a pickup, pretty much the only sheet metal that will be left on the Jimmy will be the glove box door and the first 6 inches of the bed floor.

Hi,Welcome to the board.Looks like you got nice little project on your hands.Not to take away from your Blazer but I would love to see some pics of the Yenko!!!Is it real?What he have to pay for it?1st Gen Camaro's are my first love.Then these trucks.Still not quite sure how I ended up doing a frame off on the truck with the camaro out grazing in the back yard!!!!

yea the Yenkos are real, sweet cars. the've had several camaros at a local garage, plus a Nova and .....trust me....a vega,

'Ole Don Yanko dipped into quite a few cars that no one remembers...any one heard of the Yanko Corvair? It was a pretty cool car...at least, if you like corvairs it is cool.

Amazing how the projects snowball huh? I recomended some one paint the frame rails while the engine was out, and it kinda snowballed into the cab sitting on the other side of the garage.

The corvair is the first car that he "played with".It was the stinger,and they where fast.Said to handle better than a vette because of the mid engine and horsepower to wieght ratio.
