Body cart height?

I’m going to start working on the 72 next week. I will be pulling the body off the frame so I can get the frame work done. I will be building a body cart and I need to know how tall it needs to be. I’m thinking about 2’6” from floor to body mounts but not sure if that will be tall enough to do the metal work comfortably. Any information on this would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Body cart height?

I made a cart for mine but don't have any pics of just the cart! It was seriously over built using 2X12 for the frame and with 2X4 and 4X4 supports. I laid a long board on the top of the frame ,level with the floor, and marked all the body mount locations and heights from the floor.

Good luck

Paul

Re: Body cart height?

it would be sweet if someone had plans for one of these body carts so the rest of us could copy what worked

Re: Body cart height?

That is a sturdy mount. I’m guessing it’s about 25” from frame mounts to the garage floor which is about the same as my ride height right now. I think I will add about one foot to mine because I’m getting old and the knees don’t work as well as they use to. Thank you for replying and your metal work looks great, I hope mine is half as good as yours.

FLYNAVY30 I’m making mine out of 2X2 square tubing (because I have 60’ of it) I will draw up my plans and share them here.
