Models of your rigs ?

I have a friend that is an avid model builder. I helped him with a engine install and to show his gratitude ( not needed ) hebuilt a replica of my 72 2wd highlander. I had to share it with the world, check it out. And if you have one of your rig please post, I think there cool. The only change from mine is the model is the correct color, the original k5 was painted forest green. I plan on having it painted back to original.

Congratulate your friend on a job well done. I've been building models all my life and appreciate the patience and attention to detail that goes into it. That is a sweet ride, both the model and the full size one!

Thank you and have a great holiday season. You have to give it to people who build models, the patience it takes, the skill. I bet for some it's relaxing, for me I would be stressed the whole time

Re: Models of your rigs ?

I have a model of a K/5 that I've never put together. I want to figure out how to paint it to match my Blazer (dark yellow).

There is a site call (touchupdirect) that has stock colors in a spray can.

Are they safe for plastic? I was told not to use my automotive paint because it would melt the plastic.

Re: Models of your rigs ?

Here's one I've been working on. All 3D printed and will be a working model.
It's 1/8 scale.

I like it, it has an aggressive look to it and fun at the same time.

Re: Models of your rigs ?

The reissue AMT GMC Jimmy kit is widely available, even at some Walmarts. I built a copy of my 1970 from an original AMT Crew Chief kit about 30 years ago. I sourced the 1970 grille and bumper from another kit I had laying around.

You can combine it with this kit to make a Blazer. Again, even some Walmarts carry this one:
