Question Alternator problem

My alternator has developed a hiccup, when the engine is running my amp guage bounces, the lights flicker, radio flickers, and the dash lights flicker, I checked the alternator it is putting out 15.6 volts (high output alt. by the way) single wire, self energizing, ground straps are hooked up two to the motor and one from inner passenger fender to frame. There are no bare wires touching or anything like that. Please help!!!!!!!! Also the battery is new with full electrolite.

Even though you have it grounded, that's what it sounds like to me. Try testing your ground with an multi meter.

Depending on the style of battery you have, make sure the electrolite is full. Have it tested to verify its ok.

Even with a high output (AMP) alternator, 15.6 is high. 14.8 or there abouts is what you should be seeing. If the volts are up that high with a pulsing effect I would say its the battery. Yes a bad battery will induce a overcharging problem

If your ground and battery are good, it has to be the internal regulator. From the symtoms you are describing, my first thought
would be the regulator is bad.

I agree with JimK 100%. My friends Dodge used to do that all the time, and it was the regulator. Same with my friends 68 chevelle. I'm saying the regulator is probably bad.
