Re: Color Wiring Diagram FINISHED

Can anyone tell me of another wire that supplies 12 volts (only when ignition is on) other than the ignition wire? Trying to connect my holley 600 autochoke wiring without stealing the power from my distributor..

Re: Color Wiring Diagram FINISHED

I would just leave it like it is. The choke doesnīt use that much power.
The only other spot in the engine compartment is from the starter but thatīs where the coil gets itīs power too.

On my 69 I got my power from the hot side of my TH400 kick down if you have a turbo 400 with electric kick down you could do the same I stayed away from the coil because the heater element is a resistive load.

Re: Color Wiring Diagram FINISHED

ok, I'm re-wiring my truck with a painful, I mean painless kit. i have figured most of the stuff out with the help of the diagrams on here. Much thanks for that but I still have a question. It shows the cluster with dummy lights installed and higher up on the page, the layout of the cluster with guages. There are 2wires i'm confused on the blk/brn ones; one says to the alternator and the other says to the terminal by the battery. I imagine i will have to run a few new wires. I have done the changeover to an internaly regulated alternator so what post does this wire need to be run to or where do I tie it in? The wire to the terminal by the battery, does it just run to the junction box? Thanks in advance and great job on the diagrams!!

Re: Color Wiring Diagram FINISHED

On my truck and the wiring diagram there is a black wire that runs from the firewall junction block to the junction block next to the battery. There is a black/white wire that runs from the firewall junction block and splices into the red Power wire that runs from the battery to the firewall. The diagram for the cab does not have anything shown for the terminal to the black and black/white wires. What do these wires do? Where do they go to under the dash?

Iīd say that these wires have been put in by a previous owner. The wires in Fransiscos Diagrams are Factory. I have found a few things missing in the diagram but havenīt had time to change them or let Fransisco know.

Hi Francisco,

Long time no hear.

I have the plan in the shop where I made notes of the things I found.
As soon as I get to the shop I will write them down and let you know.

I just tested them again and opened them with Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.0 and they worked.

@ Francisco - I was in the shop a couple times since I wrote the last time and never remembered to look at the plan.
Here is what I can remember in the "Master Plan":

You could change the Heater wire to look like picture #1 and
maybe tell me what the wire is in picture #2.

Re: Color Wiring Diagram FINISHED

18 is the wire guage and T is Tan. Itīs not the wire for the dimmer switch.

It is just not logical the way the wire is. Is starts on the firewall and ends on the firewall and is not part of any curcuit.

@ Drew - Nice collection you got there! Thanks for hosting the diagrams for and from Francisco!

Great post.
I can remember years ago I posted an AutoCAD version of the 67-72 schematic. (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=232796) (Not sure if the links are still working )
But these PDF's are great to have. Thanks for posting them!

No, the links are not working. Do you still have this autoCAD document? It would be invaluable to me. I am making a few changes in different areas, and I think it would be great to be able to change the diagram around to match. Thanks in advance.
