stainless steel side trim

I recently bought a 1971 C20 with about half the side trim laying in the bed.Its in pretty good shape and I want to reattach it.Would need to buy new clips etc.Whats the best way to do this? I hear good and bad about double sided tape, plastic clips, metal clips. Looking for your 2 cents.

I used all stock clips on my last rebuild. Generally the end clips on each piece have a bolt/nut and the rest use adhesive tape. The smaller short pieces have one or more screws in them. I cleaned the old tape off and used the 3m tape with the red backing. It worked OK but I wished I had tried to find some that was a little thinner. You can buy replacement clips but be careful where you buy them. The ones I bought were too small and would not stay in the trim. I can't advise where to buy them but maybe someone else has used some they would recommend.

As far as the side trim, all of it is anodized aluminum, not stainless, so it is pretty soft.
