Re: 194 led lights

The only thing that's stopping me from using these, is the fact you can't dim a LED. My concern is they will be too bright at night. I'm interested what comments you get.

Re: 194 led lights

If I am reading correctly (50 bulbs for $11.05 + shipping for a buck). Heck of a deal. Look good in 74 baggedbug's dash! I can barely read my guages at night

Re: 194 led lights

The cluster show above has white faces installed.Check out this thread for some stock clusters:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=636315

It shows the cool white leds in a stock cluster and a couple of other colors. Warm leds will look like it has original incandescent bulbs just brighter. Cool leds make the numbers look nice and white(my preference). Colors look ok if your trying to match a custom paint/interior. Some of my lights quit working a little while after I installed them so I cleaned up my connections and installed some bulb grease (dielectric) on the contacts, problem solved.

Re: 194 led lights

I put some 194s in my dash and the side markers.

The dash lights work well. They are brighter than the stock bulbs (not by a whole lot) and they do dim with a turn of the knob just like the incandescent bulbs.

The side marker lights were different though. The originals gave a nice red and amber color to the markers, while the leds made the colors look whitish and faded. I really didn't like the look so I put the originals back in.

I also put one in the dome light and added a clear lens. Not a 194 bulb though. It works well at night, but kind of useless during the day.

Mine is the same... I think it is because of customs or something. Must be from China or something

Re: 194 led lights

If they don't fit through the holes the I'll just take the tin off and pit them in from the other side

I just got my pack straight from china. Actually yesterday, just got home,Looks like they are quite a bit longer than a standard 194/168. Hopefully I can try them soon.

Re: 194 led lights

Ok got mine in the mail today. They fit perfectly. Just make sure you have them installed the right way or they won't light up if the positive is on the wrong side of the bulb.... well worth the $12

Re: 194 led lights

I would say you'll get yours installed way before me. Thanks for the input. I'll make sure I check the installation. It would be great if you could snap a couple of dash shots with them on. Might motivate me to pull this project up the list !

Re: 194 led lights

Ok, I just ordered mine. Delivery mid October. Looking forward to be able to see my cluster.

Now that I have the vision problem solved how about hearing? Can't hear the turn signal clicker thing and people honk at me cause my turn lights are blinking and I am not turning. Anyone else have the problem besides this old guy with his very nice old truck? Oh, can hardly see the lights blinking in the dash because of the tunnel. Minor inconveniences.

Re: 194 led lights

I can't hear my turn signals either. My stock am radio does not work,so the sounds of the engine/road is my song. The led lights will hopefully let me see the gages!!

This is way blurry, but it gets the point across.Think I'll put the rest of the leds in.The right side led the left side 194's.I really don't care if they dim.Even with the led's they are mediocre.Better though!!!
