Chatham Dockyard Steam, Traction and Transport Show - Photos

Got invited to show the Chevy and Grizz-Pod at this two day show.

Easter Sunday and Monday.

The show includes Steam, Traction, Motor cycles, Americans, Hotrods, Classics and this year a big Steam Punk section.

Just a load.... Big load of pics..... Maybe over a hundred.

Today was raining most of the day, so the Teardrop was less fun than it should have been.

DESPERATELY WANT THIS CAR........

Early morning, Early birds.

Modern Diesel.

Inside one of the sheda, the top mezzanine level was used for all the Steam Punk displays, which really surprised me.

This is MASSIVE !!

THIS IS A MAGNIFICENT PIECE OF ART/SCULPTING.

Wood fired Pizza oven inside this van.

Really needed some ducks for the puddle in the rear with all the rain we had.

And on this note, I am off to bed.

Will upload the rest of the pics tomorrow.....

Re: Chatham Dockyard Steam, Traction and Transport Show - Photos

OK.... So just to finish yesterdays uploads which i could not stay awake to do last night, before editing and uploading today's 310 photos I took.

The weather was rubbish yesterday, but I think it was still a good day.

Then a ride by by all the steam and traction engines.

And of course, just to show what a teardrop should look like.

Now need to upload the next lot from today, taken in the sunshine.

Re: Chatham Dockyard Steam, Traction and Transport Show - Photos

Today was a 100% better than yesterday

Sunshine, crowds, friends, father in law and a great cooler bag of food and snacks packed by Nicola as she was "dog sitting" Ruby the retired Greyhound for dad.

Before dad got there, she had texted me this pic..... what she had to look after.

I had left the truck parked up last night, and when I got there this morning the water that had collected from the rain yesterday and overnight had attracted a patriotic duck.

Right, back to the business at hand.....saw and heard this come into the show area..... NICE !!

All weekend Mr Phoebus was riding his Penny Farthing, and encouraging young and old to give them a try.

Best was the helmets that were all camouflaged as regular hats like deer stalkers etc.

Cars again.

Absolutely immaculate.

Having dad there was great, company and someone to answer all the questions about the teardrop.

I still have a load of photos to upload, but it is London tomorrow, so up early and out to the trains.

Closing shot.

Thanks for looking in.

Right.... here is Monday, with sunshine and blue skies.

My mate Aaron's 100E

Dad Relaxing for a bit before the rush of visitors. Kettle was boiling in the background.

I may have been a bit infatuated by this car. It was just lovely.

This was sooo menacing, coming in.

MGA...... I have a spare grille for one in my garage.

Backdrop to our parking area and the music stage. Tide was out at the time.

Loads of Steampunk people about.

More in a bit.

Re: Chatham Dockyard Steam, Traction and Transport Show - Photos

After two days in Warwickshire, I can now come back to post up the rest of the photos.

Tuesday night I ended up deleting a large post I had created (no idea how) so I went to bed instead.

Back to cars and other stuff from the show.

MG RV8 Just beautiful.

Re: Chatham Dockyard Steam, Traction and Transport Show - Photos

VIDEO TIME

I took a few videos, but somehow deleted some of the best ones of the traction engines working.

But here is a short one of the steam train working.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTsk...lt8TvG8KEwT5Kg

There were Penny Farthings of differing sizes on display and for testing.

I love the novel way the crash helmets have been made to look like hats.

Just magnificent.

This plaque goes with the sculpture posted up earlier.

There was a great SteamPunk display inside one for the sheds.

I love it, as it is creative, and just a bit different.

The following pieces are made by Dr Thadeus Brown's Unhinged Creations ( www.drthadeusbrown.deviantart.com )

Dr Brown himself.

Possibly my favourite shot of the whole weekend.

Other Happy people, bought some bits from him.

This was possibly the most exquisite work of all the tables on display.

An exceptionally high standard of creativity and finish on every piece, and the creator was a really cool guy to speak to.

The man himself, note his web address on the banner, go take a look.

Then back to the real world of retro and vintage automotive offerings.

Beauties like this could park on my drive any time.

Re: Chatham Dockyard Steam, Traction and Transport Show - Photos

Mickey my neighbour poped down as well, and was shocked at the size and selection of everything on display.

We had a few cups of tea, Hot Cross Buns and chatted etc.

I also love this mobile police station. Imagine it ha seen some service over its life.

And that as they say, is that.

Until next year.

Lets hope the weather improves and we have even more diverse displays.
